I use custom tags extensively. Because, once you start using OneNote, you will have so many notebooks, sections and pages - it becomes unmanageable. The tags help build another hierarchy which is context based rather than page based.

This is excellent. Tags is one reason I started using Evernote, they are essential for how I prefer managing information. Now I need to figure out how to migrate into OneNote 😂. The integration of OneNote and Outlook is too compelling. Are there tags in OneDrive?

Thanks Brian. Tags are just icons with a meaning. The only special tag is To Do type - which has a state - checked or unchecked. Others are mere icons. You could as well use Emoticons for tagging. OneDrive is a file container. No tags there. 1. Is there a use for hashtags in addition? I imagine it can be another tool to help in “search.” 2. I love how Obsidian looks but I want to stay in the Microsoft ecosystem and don’t want to deal with markdowns. Is there a way to build mindmaps and visual linking with OneNote and all the other office?

You can always use hash tags and use the regular search.. Ctri E Mindmaps best drawn with OneNote inking... Natural and intuitive... Infinite canvas. Or use a third party tool. I use Xmind.

Very good demonstration! Is there any option to sort the clicked and unclicked tags so that time to time unclicked to do tags can be clubbed together?

1. Thanks for the intro. 2. Is there a workaround for the web-based notebook and use of tags? I found out, you cannot search "tags" in the web-based notebook. Therefore, I'm trying to find a workaround to create something similar to the "tags summary." Can I somehow "link" tags in a separate "page?" Or is there a way where I just "link an excerpt" to a "summary section?"

NM, found the search but also found out that onedrive business (which i'm using) is different from personal, so the search function doesn't work.

Is it possible to integrate this with Microsoft To Do, especially when the entire page is not just the checklist? Let's say, I have a note with some paragraphs, diagrams, and one task list all in one page. Now, I just want to see this task list automatically in To Do, and sync it. Is it possible?
