There are many brands that make ph Up and ph Down and this chemical is used to alter the pH which makes the bio-availability of different nutrients more accessible to plants. We teach you how to use it in this video using both a ph meter and the provided indicator which comes with the set. It is always recommended to ph balance your water after all nutrients are added. pH up is basically Phosphoric Acid and ph Down is Potassium Carbonate.

Hello, I have a question, If my soil in my blueberry pots is 5 PH and I only water with rainwater which is also 5 PH, will the soil remain 5 PH over the years?

So from my understanding 1. Add nutrients to 2-3 gallon bucket 2. Balance ph (as shown in the video) 3. Pour water into your hydroponic grow. Is this correct ? 😁

I got my ph indicator kit with up down at the pet store. It's the same thing and half the cost

What is the pH down to water ratio? Your using like 5l of water there?

Get the up too, you want to test ph before feeding and a lot of fertilizer is acidic

WAIT before testing again. YOUR other video (and the company instructions) say to wait 5-10 minutes after adding a pH adjuster liquid, especially if it has nutrients. Then shake to mix, then test again. It says not to test right away as it won't be accurate. 🙂

I’d like to add that you cannot just “add tap” water needs to be dechlorinated. 😅

Sometimes ph up is necessary. For me in soil using dyna gro nutes at full strength during the first week of flower drops my pH down to 6.0 and i need a lot of ph up to get it back to 6.8

If your just starting out I’d suggest you to check before so that way you know you tap water ph and write it down so you don’t forget that way you always know what ph level is before you added any nutrients, after you’ve added the nutrient you also want to check the ph since nutrients usually bring it up or down then that’s when you would add ph up or down to bring it to your desirable ph level hope that helps

I always do Ph adjustment first, that way you avoid nutrient lockout. I know from experience if I start with a ph of 7.9 once I add my nutrients in the correct order my ph will drop to 6.1. When I do my water ph adjustment I’ll leave it for an hour before adding nutrients, it can sometimes change in that time. I also make sure my water is always at 23deg C. Believe it or not but water temp can change the ph. Anyway that’s what I do, hope it helps 🙂
