Thank you for baby stepping this video, I watched a few videos before this and they didn't describe where some of the cables were plugged in. I love this headset, and my only complaint is that transitioning from device to device isnt seamless for chat. Thanks again!

I know this is a little old but what if i wanted to use the mixamp to have audio output from my pc and ps4 to the same set of external speakers at the same time. Not a headset. I don't need the party chat features i have a seperate headset for that.

I still dont understand how you talk on PS4 party chat whilst have sound on PC. I have a bluesnowball microphone, I only have one wire coming out from the bottom of my mixamp. I see you have two, one with a green end of it. I have nothing else in my astro box that fits into that port (the one with the controller) HELP?????

Will this work with any headset? Like for game chat? Hopefully it works with the LGP2 because I don’t have an Elgato. I use an external mic for the stream as well but looking into this mix amp for stream alerts.

This set up isn’t working or me at all can anyone help please. I got a yeti and Astro tr .. I’m getting a bad echo in party chat from my Astro mic and that’s when the mix amp has the white ring around the power .. when it has the red ring around the power there is no mic feed back

I have all audio to the headset but the little knob for adjusting the voice and game has never worked. I've had it for like 2 years it never really bothered me that it didnt work but it definitely wouldve made life easier

You can only use the mic on either your Ps4 or pc, if you want the mic to go to your pc you need to put the usb into your pc

Alexander G you can’t use the pc sound with the ps4 off, i usually leave mine in power save with usb power on

ChanCe Gaming the mixamp does not come with an aux cord, but if you go to target, best buy or walmart you can get them fairly cheap.

How did you get that long of a cable (the one with the mute that connects directly to the headset themselves)? I bought the bundle as well but my cord can barely stretch to fit onto my head without the mixamp being on my lap.

. I plug my astro USB cable into a usb wall outlet instead of the front of my PlayStation but you can't talk on PlayStation.

you need to get a ground loop isolator. connect it to your pc and plug the cable in the aux port of your mixamp.

Long shot, but with both headset and second mic, do you get a slight echo since two mics the getting your voice? Like I don’t want my party chat hear me talk to my stream chat on my other mic.?

E S if you mute one or the other theres an echo? I was having an issue with my astro mic picking up my voice and game audio when i muted it, but that was the inline mute cable causing that. I replaced it and it works fine now.

RamboIsHere hey thanks for the reply! So I figured it out. In the Astro Mixamp command center there is a “stream port “ setting tab. I had the output sending out my headset mic, I just muted that and it fixed the echo.

I’ve done everything in the video but I still don’t get Audio from the PC into the Aux port on the MixAmp. I press play on the music and I can see the Speaker volume going up and down on the PC but no music in my headset. Can someone please help?

OpCFOzone you have the aux cord plugged in to the correct port i assume. And the mixamp is in the correct mode (pc/console). In your sound settings, do you have default output se to the headphone jack that the aux cord is plugged in. Last, check the software on the mixamp and make sure your cables are all plugged in correctly, volume adjustments are up and the balance knob is in the middle.

Pc should say something like “astro headset ( game ) and astro headset ( voice) if you plug it in via usb

Fitment Folks im not an expert, but i dont think there is a difference. Its just a headset, if it has a 3.5mm jack, it’ll work.

it is just a simple 3.5mm headphone jack, male to male, from the aux port in the mixamp into the headphone port on your PC.

Swagatron64 the ps4 needs to be turned on if you have the usb plugged into the ps4, if the usb is in your pc, then you cant hear ps4 without having the pc on.

Caspian if you switch the usb cable from ps4 to pc. And change the mixamp preset to “pc” you will be able to talk on the pc with the mic

Caspian He's using the PC but you can switch between console mode and PC by holding the power button until it goes white meaning PC then orange or red ring meaning console. Astros have a demo on here how to switch between modes.

I have everything setup how he does but when I plug the aux into my computer it just starts buzzing and I cant hear my PC audio, it doesn't even show up in my audio devices and I updated the firmware and everything? Anyone know what I did wrong?

Can your audience listen to your music and you chatting at the same time without additional noises from the background suck as fan noises and etc while you steaming on twitch

xkodakCAMx you will always hear loud back ground noises with any mic, but with this setup your audience can hear only the audio from your pc and ps4. Not your voice, you need a separate mic or an elgato to capture that.

MackaPackaz the splitter that goes into the mixamp is just an extension basically. So my cable is longer.

ahh I see. Another question, if you are plugged in to your computer throught the headset by an aux cord, would you be able to take advantage of the 7.1 Surround Sound? or would it be stereo because it's plugged in by an aux cable. Also, if u r only able to Hear audio in Stereo when connected to ur PC how can u set it up so that u can hear in 7.1?

MackaPackaz you cannot hear with 7.1 on the computer because it is plugged in with a basic stereo cable. I’m not sure about using another type of cable, I haven’t tried it.

So I plugged in my headset into my amp, and then a spare double sided aux cord into my computer and into the amp but now my mic isnt getting picked up on my ps4.

Enrico Vezzù if you plugged the mixamp into the ps4 via usb, then it should automatically recognize it as a headset and mic

Enrico Vezzù sounds like a playstation setting then. Try checking all your audio settings, input should be astro mixamp and output should be astro mixamp

Strider you can buy a USB one which goes into a USB port on your PC then optical cable in the adapter to your mix amp. Price is roughly around £3 uk price or $5 for US.
