Quickshifter and Autoblipper are one of those features that most of us can don't need in our normal lives, but if some bike has that option, and that too at this price point it is just amazing! The biggest problem with this is the vast majority of people don't know how and when to use it and in turn simply criticise it without understanding it at all (as you clearly mentioned in the video) Great video, loving this packed schedule of uploads and glad to see you're enjoying the new bike!

It's very useful on uphill or curvy roads with repeatetive bends(downshifts). Try to downshift exactly at 4000rpm it's very smooth, I can't even feel the shift.

I remember mentioned in 390 adv owners manual. For upshift min 2000 rpm and downshift max 9000 rpm is the limitation. Taking delivery today but I read the owners manual :)

I just bought a 2018 gsxr 1000R. It's got the quick shifter auto blipper. I've never used one before. Definitely not a straight forward thing. There's definitely a technique to it. I will trying hammering the throttle tomorrow. Nice explanation of this

Hi BB one thing you haven’t mentioned is that I think the quick shift function could be very useful in off road applications when you may need to down shift quickly to get over obstacles or climb steep hills. You guys are lucky as here in Oz it’s a power part and cost an additional AU$ 285

My friend told me about what a quickshifter is. I think its really good in cities since i dont need to constantly squeeze clutch

After watching this I wanted to see how the quickshifter works. I rode the 390 adventure and ngl the quickshifter works slick. But it is actually jerky below 4000 rpm. Quickshifters works flawlessly in higher rpm.

Can you clarify is it possible to “quick shift” from 1st to 2nd gear with out the clutch, while at full throttle? I am either to scared/fearful of trying to shift out of first gear without using the clutch. Do you use foot pressure early before redline? Any information is appreciated. Just a suggestion, you should have had another camera focusing on the TFT console, the gear position indicator was not seen most of the times.

Got confused for a moment 3:04 ".... no need to do any of these things" Do you mean you just need to hold the accelerator and NOT even shift the gears on your Leg? or Quickshifter only frees your hands from the clutch but you need to still change the gears using your leg?

Generally Quickshifters and even Clutchless upshifts work really well during rapidly increasing rpms (accelerating hard and fast) compared to when the rpm and speed is stable or very slowly increasing be it high or low rpms, but its the worst when its on low rpms

Great review. I was looking at this bike and the Honda cb 500x but I am leaning towards this bike now. Also I am a new motorcycle rider so the quick shiftier will be very useful. I am 6 foot tall and about 265 pounds so hopefully the ktm will suit me.

Just got mine installed and I have to add that its usefull if you live in a city with a motorway. Usefull when you get on to the "on ramp" and need to get up to 100kph. Racing no, but this is not a Yamaha R1 and not even a Vstrom 650 so its helpful to have the quickshifter to get up to motorway/highway traffic speed to merge in. If you putt along in city backstreets, dont waste your money, you dont need it. IMO

it seems to work perfectly fine, i don't know why everyone's complaining. quickshifter on a single cylinder bike can never be smooth like a 4 cylinder.

Hi I have a Ktm duke 390 bs6 but what I felt while using the quick shifter was it got kind of stuck if I kept pulling the throttle, but if I let go of it for a sec it worked and I was able to upshift. I had a doubt that am I using the quick shifter right or does my bike have an issue with the quick shifter?

KTM given quickshifter+ in adv390 for india by removing adjustable suspension. I think adjustable suspension is much needed for Indian roads than quickshifter+.

Got QS on mine 390 Adv, downshifts are truly amazing, specially comes in handy when offroading and on curvy roads. But upshifts... I just do not get it how this works. In manual it says above 2000 and under 9000 rpm, steady throttle, and just change gear. Well for me it only works between 3rd and 4th geat and 5th and 6th. On all other gears I can break my leg and it will not shift.

There is definetely an issue with the quickshifter on my KTM 390 Adv. It just simply does not shift most of the time from second to third gear. If I need it to accelerate faster to get away from a problematic situation in the traffic, I can't trust it. As I can't be sure if it would shift or not. Second and third gears are the ones that I use mostly. People who live in a country with crazy traffic would hear me. I stopped by the service three times explaining the issue but they kept saying it is normal which I don't think so and I believe they have no understanding of the mechanism. We have only two authorized services in Istanbul by the way. One of the service guy even suggested me to release the throttle while upshifting. Then what's the point of the quickshifter? I am planning to dismantle the stock one and install a better after market stuff. I don't wanna sell this bike for this reason but I was at the edge of it for a while ago. This is a great bike overall. In a traffic jam like Istanbul's, the bike is the best choice in my opinion as you can ride to your work in the weekdays and also escape somewhere out of city whenever you want. Is there anyone who has the same issue with me? Do you think dismantling the stock mechanism and installing a good quality after market stuff would be possible? Please let me know if anyone experience the same and I would appreciate the suggestions.

KTM should not use a quickshifter if not the top quality. Everything on my 890R top shelf, except the quickshifter. I came from a Triumph that was so smooth. II love my bike, just not the quickshifter.
