For any Mac users having issues: 1. Make sure you have the latest OS downloaded on your system. Initially I could not get it to work with High Sierra, but it works with Catalina. 2. As @Ngawang Yoga said, "you should first connect the splitter with external mic other than rode wireless and than remove the external mic and put back the wireless go. it works 100 percent. but you will need external mic or lav" THIS tip literally saved me! Thank you Ngawang! At first, the Rode still wasn't working with Catalina. After getting it to recognize another external mic and switching it over to the Rode, it worked perfectly!

this wont work unless your using a older MacBook, I have a 2021 m2 MacBook Pro, when I plug in my old rodeo wireless go kit I have to pick the correct cable and external mic shows up with out a splitter..I guess the splitter is cool if you need headphones but if your recording separate audio as a Vlogger who needs one track to be a bass or guitar while another to discuss it you can connect the rode to the audio interface or a splitter to use headphones.

Excellent video! It was interesting how the microphone connected to your tripod. I own the same tripod and currently trying decided between the wireless Go 2 and the Me. I need one to connect to a computer to use as a microphone (it's for a work requirement). Seems the Me will do the job, but the Go 2 might be better for other purposes.

@@kateleto5822 it's more of a DIY hack. find any small plate on tripod and slide the microphone. It's won't be very secure but should work if you are recording at one location.

The Y adapter is completely unnecessary unless you want to use its headphone output socket. The Rode SC7 TRS to TRRS cable will work fine on a MacBook from at least 2011 onwards, as they are all fitted with TRRS headphone/mic sockets.

@TrendingReviews
@TrendingReviews 2 жыл бұрын
Good question - I haven't tried this, but if you have 2x TX's connected to the 1x RX thats connected to your laptop, then theoretically, it should record both audio channels into your program. However, I would say that you'd probably need an app on your laptop that supports dual audio input from 2 microphones (I don't know any at the top of my head unfortunately). I hope that helps?

i wish I'd watched this a few days ago! I was told when I bought my Rode Wireless Go Mic that I'd need a USBC to headphone jack converter. I set it all up today - didn't work. I then did some more research and saw a video saying I need at TRS to TRRS microphone cable. So I've ordered one but then saw this video so have ordered the splitter adapter for the headphone socket too. I have an event in a couple of days and need this to work so hoping between these two cables it will. I'm really surprised there isn't more info available from Rode about it. I assumed I would be able to go in with USBC like i can with my Rode Video Mic but now I know the USBC is just for charging! This is all very confusing for a non-audio person - I just want it to work!! I'm using it for live streaming events via Zoom Webenairs

@TrendingReviews
@TrendingReviews 4 жыл бұрын
Thank you! Yes, the reason you might not be able to hear other people is because you have the splitter cable inserted into the headphone jack, so the laptop thinks an external set of headphones is connected and is trying to play through that cable. So 2 options: 1. Stick some headphones into the headphone jack of the splitter cable and listen through there 2. Try to change in the laptop's Sound settings, for Output sound to be through Internal Speakers. Hope this helps!

Hi there, thank you very much for the tips. I tried to connect my Sony UWP D-21 with a kind of cable that you recommend but my lapto just dont recognize it, Does all wireless mics can be used with laptops or is it a specifically just with the Wireless Go? Would you recommend trying to connect it with USB adapter?
@TrendingReviews
@TrendingReviews 4 жыл бұрын
Hi, thanks for the comment. I haven't tried with the Sony Mic's unfortunately, but generally, there's 2 things to be aware of in this type of setup. 1. The type of Laptop you have, whether its a Macbook or a Windows based one, will differ on how it renders sound INPUT - some offer dedicated ports for it, some require USB adapters to transfer the signals, and others may work with a Splitter. 2. If you have just a headphone port only (Like Macbooks for example), a splitter is needed, but the type of splitter you get depends on whether your microphone uses a TRS or TRRS jack. Here is how you can tell the difference: storage.googleapis.com/support-forums-api/attachment/message-1443197-6481561549619238188.jpg - This also depends which input your laptop is, TRS or TRRS - and then you buy a splitter cable accordingly to match each end. Hope that makes sense?
