Yep! Pretty much any silicone mold will work with epoxy!

I love this & what a great way to get acquainted with mixing/using the epoxy before moving on to glitters... Having a bit of trouble finding rubbing alcohol, locally, at the moment but will ask the hubs to check for the 91% at work so I can get started on these tumblers. Thank You :)

Yes I know some supplies are limited right now but unfortunately I'm not aware of a replacement. I heard someone suggest using rubbing alcohol wipes from a first aid kit if you have any to spare. I thought was a neat idea!

I love the trinket box. You are a good presenter & gave good tips. One of the extra jewels could be glued to the trinket box lid for a little knob.

Thank you! I was making a organizational trinket box, first time, and completely poured my resin in the wrong side of the mold twice! Rookie move, I unmolded 4 triangle looking pieces instead of an actual trinket box. I now know which side to pour it on, so I don't keep making the same mistake and wasting my epoxy!

I really really appreciated the hexagon mold! I literally just made 3 last night and didn't know to get rid of the bubbles and to press the epoxy into the corners. I can do it successfully this evening! Thank you so much.

Have you ever considered using the gems as feet or knobs for your other projects? They would work and look great in that capacity. Love the colors you used btw.

Thanks for the video and again you are a very good teacher. I have a question. I've heard of people spraying silicone release in the molds, have you ever done that? I bought some of those molds and the first, and only, one I made the silicone mold ripped trying to get it out it was like glued into the resin. And I didn't know if maybe I should use some kind of silicone release or how that happened. If you have any ideas, please let me know.

I have heard of it but I haven't needed to do that. It's probably worth trying though if you're ripping molds! Are you using a torch a bunch? You may be causing your epoxy to flash cure.

You’re welcome! I haven’t tried many brands to compare, I’ve just found that pushing the trouble spots with a popsicle stick to “move” epoxy there works best.

You should use your little chocolat mold pieces as a handle on top of the trinket box lid

How do you get the edge so smooth? When I use molds the edges on the top side kind of raise up like are rounded? Does that make sense?

It sounds like you’re overfilling the mold a little bit. Try getting down eye level and feeling it exactly or a little less than the top of the mold.

The heavier glitter will always sink, so make sure you mix chunky glitter with fine glitter to get good coverage. :)

If I'm making epoxy earrings, do I want to add the glitter into the epoxy or into the mold before pouring the epoxy in?

I prefer to add mine in the epoxy, but either way works. You just have to experiment.

You can put vinyl in between epoxy layers if you want!

I don't put anything in them, but some people do. I just haven't found a need for that.

You need to use molds that are glossy inside to get a glossy finish. I think you can add a clear coat to make it shiny, but I’m not positive!

This is pro marine epoxy. It’s much more important to use correct PPE rather than base safety on an epoxy brand.

If they are silicone, yes. Just make sure that once you use epoxy in them you don’t use them for anything else after that.

Are molds ever the problem for bendable epoxy? I mixed 2 full bottles and didn’t change colors, add-ins at all. 2 of the eight molds came out bendable- everything was fully cured. I let one small trinket tray cute another day and it’s perfect, but the wine caddy mold produced a bendable product. I’ve had this happen several times. I don’t think this was user error since I mixed entire bottles and everything else came out fine. Also forgot to mention that same mold has produced varying results with multiple types epoxy resin

How long should I leave the epoxy in the mold?

Until it’s set. You can sometimes remove it while it’s still soft but watch for curling.

The mold needs to be shiny inside to get the shiny look. When molds are matte inside they make the result look matte too.

I watched another video on Epoxy and the person said you should wear a mask (looked like a gas mask) is this really necessary?

I wear an N95 mask. I encourage you to do some research about safety before jumping into epoxy. ☺️

That is not the way you demold things. You will break the mold eventually. Separate part of the mold from the side of the box. Poor in baby oil. Squish it around till it hits all sides and bottom. Mold will slide out. No inside out needed. Use baby oil all the time. Never broken a mold since i started using it. The only one i broke was before i used baby oil trick.

I appreciate the tip, but I have never broken a mold while demolding the way I showed in this video.
