I feel as using foam brushes leaves the wood a lot more sheen. I did a side by side and the rag left a matte finish and the foam brush was a whole lot more glossy.

Oil based stain always go with oil based top coat doesn it

They say technically you can mix them but I don’t

paint or stain, oil is first coat, then latex or acrylic can follow if you aren't going to use oil, but NOT the reverse order.

Thay dont sell minwax in uk or pre stain oil, only water base in uk of other brands

Whats the top coat clear called ?

@@robertbuckley3480 Shellac - Shellac is best used on lighter woods where durability is not a top priority. This finish is easy to apply, dries quickly, and is best on lighter-colored woods. Polyurethane - Polyurethane is a more durable finish and is recommended for heavier-use areas where moisture is a concern.

I went few shops and thay never heard of shellac like b+q I went, I looked it up and it’s only in usa and dont ship to uk, ebay and amazon don’t, do you no any like that top coat mahogany
