I know you said to cancel out the final number in the decimal. BUT if it was higher than 5 could you use it to round up e.g 0.00456. . . .would you round it up so its 0.0047 or keep it to 45 ?

Sir great explanation..in this ATR value case every time we consider only the decimal values..what happend this type of ATR value, 3245.1239 in here we consider 3 decimal points and get the pip value as 23 is it correct??

I've watched like 15 videos of the ATR indicator, this was the one that actually made me understand how it works. Thanks. I'm interested in becoming a day trader, and one thing that always gets me is how the hell I'm going to be able to trade any stock in the 1 minute and 5 minute chart when such rapid movements take place. I have to pay attention to the indicators, candle patterns, set my stop loss and profit target...all in a matter of minutes or I might miss the move. I'm guessing It'll come with practice, right?

Yes! After watching for 5 times or more, I was able to understand how ATR works and helps in setting the correct stop loss and target. And I love that "momenum"! It's a big help! Also, the oversold market and the momenum that follows it, I believe I also understand how it works. I'm just curious. I can't use the ruler in my trading view platform. I'm using a demo account in my cellphone. I haven't connected trading view yet to Aonda. I'm still waiting approval. Does it matter? Will the ruler work once I have a real trading account?

Just to be clear we put our stop loss as per the entry time frame ATR and not reference time frame ATR. Is that correct? E.g. - if my reference time frame is let's say 4 hours and my entry time frame is 15 mins, then, I will put the stop loss as per the entry time frame ATR. Or else, it's going to be a huge stop loss. Am I correct?

I prefer SMA of last 14 candle size, so I see ATR period to 1 and add an SMA to the ATR, and then add other longer SMA(70) of the ATR. I use whichever the lowest between short and longer SMA.

I am used to use ATR for setting stop loss always but now I got how to use it for breakout and for reversal with combination of RSI. Thanks a lot.
