GREAT VIDEO!!!!!!!!!!!! best video on the manticore that ive seen ... ive only had mine for four days and i got to take it out this weekend and i really like it but my 2 complaints coming from a Nox 800 is that it doesnt seem to hit signals as hard.. im here in the states and looking for civil war stuff and when i hit a bullet thats deep with my 800 it SCREAMS but the manticore was kind of unimpressive on the tones.. but im sure that this can be adjusted just have to do more adjustment in the tones.. my other complaint is the shaft itself. I have a telescopic shaft on my 800 and the pieces have a groove down the center to keep everything in alignment but on the manticore as soon as you unlatch the camlock the coil goes everywhere ,not a fan of that at all its a serious design flaw in my opinion but overall love the machine and the update turns it into a serious beast!!! Thanks again for the video and happy hunting!!!!

The shaft you get used to no issue and actually grow to like it and the audio not banging out…. Just try this…. Audio theme normal and then scroll down and change to simple.. ( not medium or rich ) remember to thank and sub if you like it 🤟🤟🤟🤟 i will be banging better than 800 ❤️

I live in an area with very little EMI. I can run most detectors at max sensitivity no problem including the Manticore. It does not chatter at full power. However the Manticore gives 97,98,99 VDI which show as a deep target even repeatable in that spot. After digging a bunch of these only to find nothing I have concluded it's the ground minerals it's picking up. So even though I don't get chatter at full power I get ground falsing on the high end of the numbers. I backed it down until those 97-99 signals went away. Around 27-29 and I started getting deep coins. I was not getting prior at max. So I have come to that same conclusion. The Manticore is working a bit different than my other machines. Fine tune it for stable operation from both emi and ground noise. That happy spot in the sensitivity will give you amazing depth. I mean incredible depth. I am digging sketchy coins on the edge of detection at 12"-14". Wheat pennies at that depth. It's amazing to see.

Well done Sid, I've learned so much and very impressed with all your knowledge. I'll try some of your suggestions as I'm much too dim to take it all in and try too many. My only problem with the Manticore is sometimes I have to do a factory reset to get them to connect to the headset. I always make sure the connect symbol is flashing then switch headset on to no avail. Switch off, do a factory reset and they connect every time.
@englandshistory
@englandshistory 8 ай бұрын
Once there connected they should stay connected, you turn manti on and then headphones and if the headphone dont connect just quick press the wireless button (dont hold in) if you hold it in it will start searching for new headphones again… You only need to do that if they dont connect auto… Of they don’t connect then do the search process: 1 hold down bluetooth button until icon flashes 2 turn headphones on whilst holding power button in until you hear a series of beeps 3 wait till they connect

@@englandshistory For sure 👍. Nearing the end of enforced lay off so lm absolutely champing at the bit to get back into it after a couple more weeks. Ive just the iron infested site in mind that I've hit hard with the M'core, all non ferrous bangers are gone so Im super keen to focus on low conductors amongst the iron. No Roman or hammered's in this neck of the woods, if any pop out we'll be re-writing the history books.
@rexhabel3429

@@englandshistory G'day Sid, promised I'd give you my thoughts...pretty wordy but here goes. I went over my well hit iron infested site a final two times with the M'core. It also had a strong farm electric fence giving plenty of emi. Previously cherry picked all the high conductors on AT general. This time I used your suggested ground balance set up. It gave me several number increase in sensitivity to what I was used to before backing off from falsing! Definite ✅ in my book. I tried AT low conductor mode followed by AT fast. I had more success with AT fast in finding small low conductors like pieces of copper metal shards. Some targets were so small I had difficulty seeing them in the dirt even after Mi4 pinpointing. With fast mode I tried enhanced audio & medium profile. I found it helped my ear discern non ferrous targets. When you hit a tasty tone I found best to let the m'core determine the strength of the target response with several repeat passes. If it's any good it will lock on & build on tone strength. This is different to what I'm used to. Same with ferrous, if its initially solid keep swinging from different directions for any change in tid or 2d. When I used stabiliser I ran it at 4-5 with filter on & only when in heavy iron. I found for me this setting best gave ferrous targets an altered tone. Again, I'd picked out all the larger bangers so I was looking for the fine stuff. Initially started on 1 & no filter, with no discernible difference. I think the key to maximise the m'core is not to be fixated with one program fits all but to start on a basic setting, work out your site & make adjustments. Cheers mate

I don't know whether it's right or not, but it seems though the dropping the sensitivity helps you pinpoint the target better. Running high sensitivity seems to increase the search area in the x-y direction way beyond the size of the coil, rather than just increasing the z direction (depth). Dropping the sensitivity from 30 -> 20 has meant that I dig smaller holes but just as deep. I didn't get this with my CTX, even with the big coil fitted.

@englandshistory
@englandshistory Жыл бұрын
It all depends on how the manti is performing… always try to use as little as you can without the iron constantly tricking you… the less you use on ferrous limits the better you can get the co-mingled targets to sound out… will vary depending on how bad the iron is etc
@trevorpoile3001

Ok so if I went on beach general in standard settings and dropped the bottom ferris limits say to 1 would this be better on coins and small objects
@englandshistory
@englandshistory Жыл бұрын
@@trevorpoile3001 yes if the beach your on has very little nuisance targets showing in the lower limits why would you need to add a large block there ?!? IE you only need to use the needed amount of limits to suit the search, if you have too much on you run the risk of eliminating desired targets that can also fall in that area… ok so imagine your on a mineralised area of the beach and you go over a thin gold chain this could give a target id of say 6 normally on the centre line, but!! If the chain is deeper into the mineralised sand it could drag the target way down into the lower limits and if you have a large area of the lower limits blocked out it will be eliminated! But if the lower limits is set to a more forgiving amount you will still get a good signal on the gold…. But as i said the limits need to be determined depending on how the sand is reacting on the day… all about balancing the machine to suit your search… and the manticore has the best customisable iron bias out there 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 just gotta learn to use it to your advantage

Strong word is game changer….ive yet to be blown away by performance but to be fair only had manti a month or so and the grounds been baked dry and not had a productive field to test it on yet…. Do i think its better than the 800 yes for sure 👌🏼 more power, better adjustments to get through iron masking, faster, loads more settings to help performance on tricky ground… If you like playing with settings and adjustments this is the machine for you…. If you want simplicity keep the 800

Agree more settings to play with but I've yet to see anyone proving its better on live targets. I've owned and sold a Manticore as I was not impressed, very expensive for minimal performance gain may be an inch deeper. But battery run time not good. Headphones suffer with wind noise issues. No module. Tones rule visuals gimmicky once you've gelled with it tones are all that's needed. yes its performance on the beach is way better but I don't beach hunt
