It's true! Skin changes with age, seasons, and hormonally.. Generally if you get oily in the tzone you'll be combination or oily skin type - which can be more prone to breakouts if you don't take care of the skin. Or if you find your face is stiff and dry, then you'll typically be dry skin, and this would be the case for your body too. Hope that helps a bit! But regardless of what ur skin type, moisturizing and keeping the skin nourished is the most important factor, and toning is just a step in the process 😘 - Fel x

This video made a HUGE difference in my skin. I had struggled for months with inflamed, angry red pimpley skin on my cheeks and couldn't figure it out. My dermatologist prescribed a retinol treatment, but that only helped a little bit. I noticed that your photo of acidic skin in this video was kinda similar to my skin so I started using a gentle toner (I hadn't used toner in years). Within a few weeks, the angry skin was smooth again for the first time in over a year. Since then it's led me to rethink my whole skincare routine and I'm noticing a massive difference. Thank you so much for this video!

@Jacqueline Alanisit was just the Mario Badescu glycolic acid toner that I already had. It's super gentle (I think it's only 2% glycolic acid, whereas I believe the Pixi toner has 5%) so I feel like maybe it was more the pH balancing than any active ingredient in there. Or maybe I just REALLY needed to exfoliate ;)

Can you do a video about refridgerating skincare products like sheet masks, aloe vera gel, etc. and rubbing ice on your face? does it benefit your skin? does it enhance the products performance? are there any negative effects if you refridgerate it?

When you refrigerate sheet mask, you can’t use it immediately upon taking it out of the refrigerator. This extreme cool sensation will give a “shock” to your skin. So it’s generally recommended to use it after it’s out for about 5mins to make sure it’s not too cold, and give a calming effect! And for aloe gel I think refrigerating it just gives you a cooling feeling, nth much to it!
@shinryouzen
@shinryouzen 5 жыл бұрын
Rachel Yeo What happens exactly when it "shocks" your skin? Like what adverse effects can happen to your skin? I always thought that you refrigerate sheet masks so that the serum is absorbed well in the mask, leaving less residue of the product on the plastic package so that you get more of the product in the mask. I dont wait too long after taking it out because when it cools down the serum inside kinda "melts out" of the mask so more contents go out of the sheet mask again.

alondra. I use natural rose water and I put it in my pine spray bottle and it really does help I usually spray it in the morning and before I go to sleep and I’m not really sure if rose water sprays you can buy are actually good because that might not be 100% natural
@MiMiMeow89
@MiMiMeow89 5 жыл бұрын
I actually like to run my sheet mask under warm water while it's still in the package or put it on directly after a warm shower because it absorbs better with my pores open. Refregerating your mask can temporally tighten your pores but that makes it harder for the product to penetrate the skin.

I’ve had self esteem issues stemming from trauma events, so I let my appearance go. No skincare haircare makeup or anything for 3 years. I was just trying to step back into feeling pretty, so I would put makeup on, but it would make me feel uglier. I got upset until I realized I needed to step back, and take care of my hair skin and nail health before even thinking about makeup or piling on a lot of products. Thank you for your logical, in-depth technical approach to beauty🙏🏼 we need the education!

Okay!! I’m just gonna say this video is so important!! It’s essential because it makes the importance and process of facial and skin care make sense. I have eczema and dry, oily, and combo skin in different parts of my face and I’ve always wanted to know what would help my body for what it needs, without a quick fix and me just putting in whatever my doctors give me without having results. This shows what the toner does, why it’s important, and how our skin works to function properly and healthy, and lastly how those products are made and used to do just that for our skin. #skinlove lol like I’m seriously so happy about this, I’ve been looking for this for years, not having the time or resources to look into it myself. So thank you guys!! This video is appreciated by all who love their skin, and fun, light, and chic entertainment 😉🌸👍🏽 ...now we just need the fitness, diet, and hair enthusiasts to hop on this useful info train 😁😛😗

I have combo skin that is acne prone and sensitive and I love using the thayers witch hazel. I always buy it in rose petal and lavender. I've tried a lot of skin care and some things worked while others didn't. I use the thayers witch hazel daily but if I feel like I'm getting texture, my pores look huge, or I'm getting more acne I use the tarte knockout tingling treatment. That stuff really helps with that concern almost over night. My biggest advice is to read ingredient lists. After I started doing that I've been buying things That Won't irritate my skin.

I really wouldn't consider the Ordinary's Lactic Acid to be a toner. A toner is (like what the video describes) something that draws moisture to your skin; the Lactic Acid + HA is more of a chemical exfoliant that's there to exfoliate and break down the surface layers of your skin - so it's not moisturizing at all. Great video though!

and guys, DON'T FORGET TO WEAR SUNSCREEN AFTER USING AHA or BHAs esp, as they make your skin prone to sunburn very easily. Of course we need to use sunscreen everyday but it's a MUST after AHAs/BHAs.

Hi. Which one of these would work sensitive acne prone skin that dries out easily, has current acne, acne scars, large pores on the nose but nowhere else, mild rosacea, and is allergic to several natural things, like aloe vera 😐 Probably the cheapest one right? Let's go with that...

There's the SOON JUNG Relief Toner from Etude House that I wanna recommend. I have dehydrated skin which is also on the drier side. A lot of products don't get absorbed into my skin and just form an oily barrier on top but this toner did not disappoint. The most amazing part is that on top of changing my complexion and hydrating my skin, it is also getting rid of my acne slowly. I have hormonal acne on my cheeks and jaw and they are fading away!

I have a question tho, i have a really oily skin that causes breakouts sometimes. Is it okay to use a facial cleanser with salicylic acid and use a toner that contains AHA & BHA? Because i saw another blog from this channel that says we should not use salicylic acid together with chemical exfoliations such as AHA & BHA. I’m a bit confused tho. I hope you would notice my comment and get some answers from you ladies! ❤️

If you combination skin, oily but also dry-feeling, you can use the laneige fresh calming toner. It helps to balance the water and pH level. If im not mistaken. However, it dries pretty quick on a cotton pad so it probably has some level of alcohol? But its known to help sensitive skin and it never irritated my sensitive skin before so🤷🏻‍♀️.

Just my two cents. I feel that the perfect all around toner is one that doesn’t have alcohol, dyes, too much fragrance, etc. I know that most have beneficial acids. How the acids benefit your skin varies individually. For example, Peter Thomas Roth’s 8% glycolic toner had a high rating....but it burned my skin like crazy every time and dried it out. Because of that, I know not to purchase a toner that has acids for my skin type. The shorter the ingredient list, the better. Much like food really. And as I said, everyone’s skin is different!

What kind of toner he's using? There are many possibilities. Maybe your friend is sensitive towards some ingredients. Maybe he's using exfoliating toner which speed up the skin cells regeneration thus form pimples. Or maybe other thing?

Perhaps he is purging? Because it happens when your skin is introduced to something new. Purging is normal and it shows that the product is working. Purging can happen for quite awhile but it will die down. I suggest you do some studying about it 💗

@dorkiecookie 5 жыл бұрын
Nur Qistina Azman Long omg if ur toner is breaking you out its not purging! purging should only happen when it contains AHAs/BHAs/Retinoids, if your cleanser/toner/oil/serum is breaking you out your skin is telling you its not for you.

@itsaramkat 5 жыл бұрын
If he's breaking out, then it's not for him. It could be fragrance, oils, alcohol, a specific ingredient his face doesn't like.... there's a lot of possibilities. Switch to something else to see if it helps (for more gentle, cut out exfoliants, fragrance, alcohol, and oils).
