Should you wait until you follow coaches to post content, or should you gather content and post it first, then follow a bunch of coaches to show that you have consistent material on your page?

Makes sense to post some content before so when you start following coaches and they follow you back, they'll be able to already see the content on your page

Should your account be set to private so you can keep followers strictly recruiting specific? Or set to public allowing more followers so your handle shows up at the top?

We definitely recommend having a public account! You'll want to remove as many barriers as you can for coaches to connect with you.

Definitely the coaches! The majority of the time the team accounts aren't run by coaches.

Can I tag coaches in my tweets? Like tag them in a highlight video or workout video tweet?

You can! However I would limit it as coaches don't like to be spammed and potentially only do it for coaches you are already in contact with. Tagging a coach once in a while is fine. Tagging them on every post is a big no-no.

@@ncsa thanks for the reply. One more question my daughter is a freshman and she has a few division 1 coaches following her back. Should she be sending direct messages to these coaches introducing herself, showing her highlights and interest about the college? The college coaches can’t reply because she’s not a Junior. Should we send these messages anyway? Also in these messages should she leave her parents number or coaches number for contact about her? I guess this would be kind of getting around not contacting her directly due to NCAA rules.

Great question! Definitely still reach out even if they can't respond back yet. Gives them an opportunity to evaluate your daughter and track her progress throughout high school. Also, yes you should be including specifically the coach contact info. Coaches will definitely want to reach out and learn more about her.
