I looove everything about you, your work, and your teaching style. I feel like you’re right here and so available. And, youve got such a creative variety of projects and info....cant stop watching long enough to work😉 i really would like to purchase your underglazes as your colors are SO yummy, but not sure where to find them and I’m guessing that sending them to Chicago/US would make the cost prohibitive, but would love to be wrong. Appreciate the feedback. Trudi Hardegree

Hello, thank you for your kind words - i now sell pigment free underglaze medium and pigments so you can make your own underglaze colours at home - its really easy and cheaper than buying ready made colours. janescottceramics.com/product/pigment-free-underglaze-medium-120ml/ here is the link. I post to the USA all the time - its no problem if you dont mind waiting a bit for it to arrive. Happy potting

Jane - your videos are fantastic. Better than anything I've found on Netflix recently and it's Oscars season, so that says a lot! I want to order a few things from your shop and I'd like to order the blue underglazes and the white that you used on your beautiful vessel (at 12.49 in the video) and also wanted to ask if you use a clear glaze over the top? Thanks so much!, Lori

Hi There, sorry for the long delay in replying - I’m in Spain on holiday so have been having a nice break from social media etc…. You can go straight to the pottery shop on my website to order stuff : janescottceramics.com/. And yes, I use a transparent glaze over the top of most stuff…. Happy potting 😍

Another brilliant video, thank you so much 😊 this is probably a bit boring but do you have any tips / could you do a video on looking after your tools/ cleaning and tidying up etc? I’m doing everything in my dining room / kitchen and I keep seeing videos warning about the hazards of clay dust etc
@JaneScottCeramics
@JaneScottCeramics 3 жыл бұрын
Just keep wiping everything down with damp sponge/cloth, thats all you can do to keep the dust down. Try not to worry too much about it though, i could tell you about some potters studios that would make your toes curl... 🤣

@JaneScottCeramics

Glad you like the vids 👍🏼 errmmm if you have already dipped a pot in glaze then there would be no need to add more glaze with a brush... but perhaps i am misunderstanding you...? 🤔

Such great, informative videos! I'm wondering if the underglazes have the capacity to run, or they will stay put where applied? Thanks!
@JaneScottCeramics
@JaneScottCeramics 2 жыл бұрын
It depends how thick they are, you can make them runny by adding some water but the underglaze i sell is double cream consistency. 👍🏼

@JaneScottCeramics
@JaneScottCeramics 3 жыл бұрын
Hi there, its easy - I must do a video on that... Press your foliage into clay, bisque fire that bit of clay and then press new soft clay into your bisque fired ‘mould’ and bingo you will have your foliage in relief.

I’m so glad you are enjoying the vids😀. My underglazes behave in the same way as amaco underglazes but i do truly believe that mine are better, higher pigment and cover better too... Yes, postage to USA will be a bit disappointing I think... I must look into it! They will be available on my website very soon.

Just found your channel. fabulous! I shall be watching the rest and love your work. Could I ask re earthenware, is it food safe with the slip covering the inside and rim. I get confused as some say it must be glazed entirely to be useable yet I see pieces that aren't fully glazed? You're the lady to know :) Thanks for the great videos!

Hi there Maren, sorry for the late response I’m in Spain and having a bit of a break from social media etc…. 😎. The underglaze medium that i sell has a really wise firing temp range - 1080 - 1260 and will probably go a bit higher than that too…. Try it, its super nice and you can mix in your own pigments so easily - here is the link to the shop if you want to buy some to see for yourself: janescottceramics.com/product/pigment-free-underglaze-medium-120ml/. 👍🏼

Are your clear Matt and gloss glazes food safe? I love the effects of your underglazes but assume I would need a clear glaze over perhaps - inside a cup or on a plate for example?? Also wondered if I bought the base underglaze medium can I just add mason stain? Thank you!
