This video was so helpful. I've experience knee pain in my right leg for two years and didn't know what was happenng. I had xrays done and the doctor said everything looked fine. But the pain was still there. He had me taking naproxen daily and that didn't seem to help. I bought a tube of this almost a month ago and was using it sporatically but then started using it daily and the pain has just about went away. I hope it's permanent but I will continue to use it until I feel absolutely no pain.

Excellent job explaining Diclofenac Gel! I've used it off and on for over three years and although it never really stops the pain, it takes quite a bite out of the intensity! If anyone knows the answer, how long should you wait after using Diclofenac Gel to apply any cream or lotion to the area? Once again, beautiful job to the Pharmacist! ThanQ

Thank you for explanation which my doctor failed to do. Three years after this video was made, diclofenac sodium topical gel is available in generic form. I bought Voltaren, 1.76 oz. size, in CVS for $13.50 and will buy the generic next time, if it works, for $3 less.

I love this gel. It has been a game changer for me. It last for days with only once use. I tried twice per day for one day and I had no pain for up to two weeks. Thank God for this gel. I used to cakk myself the tin lady. Now I can carry on with my normal life. I have 3 types of arthritis and was taking nothing due to upper gi issues. Now I'm virtually pain free.

Humble suggestion here, could you film a dosage being measured out? I discovered some of my elderly home health clients were measuring out double and triple the amounts actually indicated, using the generic gel with enclosed dosage card! Thanks for a very informative video!!

Thank you so much for the excellent job of explaining this medication. Unfortunately, with it being OTC now, you don't get the inserts that you get from the pharmacy. And the doctors do not have the time to explain it as thoroughly as you have. I have subscribed to your channel now.

I just applied the gel to my hips, lower back and calves… is that too much? I didn’t know you could only apply it to two areas at a time.

1) Both of my knees have osteoarthritis. Do I put 4 on each knee, or 2 grams on each? 2) It says to discontinue use after 21 days. Then what? The pain comes back, and I'm not supposed to use anymore?

Can I put it on both knees and wrists at the same time?

I just have one join on my little finger (nearest the nail) that hurts. The dosage card seems to call for too much, as if my whole hand was hurting. Can I just apply a small amount to this one joint instead?

What about hip flexor/itb/tfl pain & shoulder (rotator/deltoid ) pain?

I given some from the VA hospital, you said we shouldn't use it with heating pads so it wouldn't be advisable to use it with a Lidocaine 5% patch? I truck drive and have pains in my neck and knees, if I sneeze or cough it hurts my neck😢

How long are we supposed to rub the gel into the skin? I find that no matter how long I rub, a large amount remains on the skin like wet glue. Is this normal, or is the Voltaren supposed to be absorbed into the skin like regular skin lotion and leave no film? Thanks!

I was only able to get the diclofenac sodium topical 1%. Is it correct to use 4 grams for just one foot? and for one knee it’s 4 grams? Seems like a lot And how long do I wait to put another dose? I read online that I should wait 4 hrs but I’m not sure.

do you only apply it to the joint or the whole limb? for example, that is a lot of gel for just my big toe joint which is where I have pain. I have a question. I’ve never had any issues health wise. I’m healthy, eat clean, work out almost every day and I’m not overweight. I took some labs last year and everything was fine. This year on my physical it showed high triglycerides, my Cholesterol is normal though. But my triglycerides is 525. Any chance this can affect triglycerides and or cholesterol? Thanks.
