In this video I use boiling hot water to sweet talk a colony of ants to move away from my house. This is the cheapest most natural way to kill ants. For the ones it doesn't kill, they get the point and pack their bags. You'll likely see these ants hitching a ride down I-40w on their way to Albuquerque.

Takes lots of boiling water. The boiling water dissolves the compound the ants secrete that holds the walls of the tunnels open.

My video was going to be about how it’d take too many boiling water trips. But it only took one and a week of waiting and they relocated. So…kind of a win. Now it’s the neighbors problem.

A generous pot of boiling water with a light squirt of dish soap added once the water boils. The soap reportedly makes the water adhere to the ants longer. I usually treat the mound in the evening, and check it the following morning. If you see piles of dead ants on the surface, you need to boil another pot of water.. After all, somebody had to haul all those dead ants to the surface.

Honestly they probably have a huge underground nest that they will just pop up an opening to somewhere else. The ant problem isn’t gone, they just won’t use that location as a opening to the nest.

Diatomaceous earth, spread it all around the nest and over the top as well.

20 Mule Team BORAX + sugar + water. Mix equal amounts of each, bring to boil, let cool, pour over or near their nest. It will kill the entire nest.

@@weekendhomeprojects I heard it differently years ago, you use borax but first you put sugar let them make a line to the sugar pile, then add borax in 50/50 equal parts to more sugar, place over existing sugar pile ( should be small to start and small to end like 1-2 tbsp to start and maybe 3-4 tbsp to end. They will take the borax and the sugar to the queen she will eat enough borax to die. Shouldn't take more then a few days to see the colony start to fall and maybe 1-2 weeks b4 they all are actually dead from their mix of sugar and super salt
