How to use Wolcrepe or Crepe Hair!

In this video, I will show you how to use Mehron Crepe Hair or as we also name it wolcrepe. It is not quick but if you now know how to use it, it is relatively easy. We use pros-aid for gluing down the wolcrepe.

Hi Linda, Sorry to trouble you but could I ask your advice? I’m in a play which requires me to have a ginger beard. They have given me a false one but I just look like Chewbacca! So I was advised that crepe wool looks more realistic. Other members of my acting group say they could help me apply it so have you any idea how much wool I need to order to make a full beard? Nice video. Very complete. I have a question, are the leftover pieces of hair usable in any way? If one has tufts of leftover hair is there an easy way to orient the hairs in the same direction?

Thank you so much! I always use Pros-Aide as a glue. It is strong and flexible. I would say it could stay for a few days if you wouldn't sleep on it. I never tried this but I guess it could stay quite a while.

+Octavio Heredia the Pros-Aide has a special remover. I use "life wipes" by mouldlife for this. But you could use Admed remover by Mehron or removers like this as well.

+Mileena Harleen yes! Absolutely you can! Apply them a bit longer them you want them to be and tegen just cut them to the right length

Hello please answer: can I use yarn wool as an alternative and if yes what are the cons to using yarn for this?

Yes you can! Yarn is less like hair then the crepe hair and that would make it less realistic. And mixing a few colors would be a bit harder to do. But yes. You can make it with wool or yarn.

As doll customizer I am curious if there is another type of glue I could use on plastics that would work like this glue? I am looking for permanence though.

I would use pros-aide on plastic 😁. But for more permanence you might want to use something like tix gel? We use this in prop making. Very strong glue.

If you would use latex as glue you could. This one was just one time use with pros-aide

Cool look to make! I think you could do this in about 1 hour. Small tip. Prepare the crepe hair. That will save you time

Yes and yes! It will take a bit more time to make it look good but with some patience you can make it look great. For removal make sure you get the remover for the glue you are using ( there are specific removers for each glue).

Can I ask you a possibly stupid question? If you make a perfect beard using the wolcrepe, can you reuse it a few more times? Or would you have to attach it to lace to make it more durable?

Stupid questions dont exist 😊! Of you would want to reuse it you could try to create it with clear liquid latex in stead of prosaide. That would make a reusable base. Or indeed glue it on a skintone lace. That would work!

Yes you can. It has more shine to it and it is less flexible but it will work for sure.

I would use dark grey, medium gray and black then. Only black and white would be very hard

Yes. It would be reusable.

If you have the right remover it isn't. Without that,..... it is. Use lifewipes by mouldlife!

I never tried washing my face with it. I think you could, if you are careful with the crêpe hair. It will last a while, could be a few days if you don't sleep on it.

The hair you can just pull off the skin. The pros-aide you remove with a pros-aide remover. My personal favorites are the Life Wipes by Mouldlife.

Few questions: How much is crepe wool? Where can I purchase some? How much should I purchase for a full beard (possibly even arms)? Does sweat or water wash away the hair or adhesive? Does the adhesive ever lose its strength within an 8hr period? (*Planning on being a Werewolf for a Halloween party this year)

@@MrsTPJ you do know you can still be religious and celebrate Halloween right? It's not "the Devils birthday" it's believed to be by some ppl. It's literally a pagan celebration (same way christmas and easter are pagan holidays) of the end of summer and the last harvest before the cold months. Only reason monsters and spirits are a big part of it is because the spiritual world and living world are believed to be at their most thin and can cross over (hence why ppl originally would dress as monsters to frighten evil spirits away) the same way we use gargoyles on our churches and cathedrals Could argue NOT dressing up is against Jesus by allowing spirits to roam free and become trapped on earth 🤔
