Usually when your PC is idle, the GPU usage is depends on your running programs. Some 3D wallpaper apps and RGB LED controlling apps consume some GPU usage. usually 20w or less is normal. If you use RTX GPU together with your iGPU, and connect your monitor to the iGPU for display. So the RTX consumes almost 0% when system is idle. It's a way to save power just like a laptop computer. But don't forget to toggle the RTX to your games in display setting for better performance. The performance may be not so good as RTX direct connected to the monitor (90% or so), but if your RTX is overpowered to your game, it's just OK.

@@LIUXIN igot you but in my case it will be a laptop with amd CPU with APU and nvidia graphics 4000 that im willing to get , and i will use it maintly for dual pc streamin it will most of the time be runin OBS on the laptop and encodin with the gpu , im wondering if it's possible to combine the power of both igpu and dgpu to encode better and faster

@@XenomTV so far as I know, one software can only adopt one hardware encoder at a time. You can't let nv and AMD to work on same video encoding at the same time.

check your [device manager], if there are 2 display adaptors , then you need to install both the drivers. usually when you use a dGPU, the iGPU will be disabled by default.

I think so, you can set iGpu as forced in bios. connect your monitor to the motherboard. Install both the drivers of Nvidia and AMD in windows (better 10 or 11), set the recording and software to use "performance GPU"(GT710). I may make more videos about this later this month. @liuxin Well, the OP is asking to use both (iGpU and discrete GPU) to run Adobe Premier, and this is not possible.

no boost at all. And the iGPU takes some of your system RAM as video memory. So you'd better have 16G or more RAM dual channel. This method is not helpful for gaming. It's better at video playing back.

No, APU usually has a G at end such as 5600G, 5700G, 3200G, 2400G, etc But the lastest Zen4 CPUs (7900x, 7700x, 7600x, etc) has built-in GPU unit (3 CUs).

it's Ok. As long as you enabled igpu in BIOS and installed correct driver, the bluesky FRC can enable the function to insert frames . Some applications can only detect and use the main GPU (the one with monitor connected). While some apps (usually video related apps) can give you options in its settings to choose which GPU to use.

If you plan to buy graphic card, then choose another processor, that processor have great integrated graphics, so it doesn't make sense. If you have 7 8700G you don't need gpu. If you want gpu it's better for you to buy non-G ryzen processor.

Hello, i would say not at all. Atleast for me, i have Ryzen 5 5600H and RTX 3060.

5600h has vega7 as iGPU, right? So it can play your videos upto 60hz or even more with help from Bluesky FRC. However, it may be laggy for playing 4k videos, but with the help of your 3060, it can do it well. I have a PC with 5600g and 6800xt, it can play 4k video from 24hz up to 120hz

some old GPU such as RX580 doesn't support UEFI booting. so you may need to enable CSM for it. otherwise you'll have to use iGPU for BIOS settings.

Hi, the Rx590 is already supported by Bluesky FRC. You needn't to activiated it together with Vega8. My HTPC has 5600G and rx580 2048sp ( a renewed rx470). and I found it useless to activate both dGPU and iGpu. So just use your rx590 is OK. But in future if you upgrade to a newer generation GPU. You may try this trick again. Wish you good luck.

You can use the dedicated GPU for gaming or rendering and the iGpu for screen recording or streaming.

well, seems that's a problem. win10 can't recognize vega APU as power saving GPU. It always uses dGPU. So maybe use CPU for encoding in OBS is a better solution. Usually, CPU encoding quality is better than GPU encoding. So Bluesky FRC gets the most benefit from this APU+GPU mode. But if your GPU is aleady a GCN (rx470,480,570,580, vega series etc), you may not need to do this.

This doesn't work sometimes due to your GPU, CPU and MB. Besides, for rx580 it's not necessary. rx580 is already a better vega GPU than 5000G APUs or earlier
