I often take strips of the fabrics from the quilt for the bindings. I like the look of straight joints for these bindings.

Love your star quilt and scrappy binding. You did a beautiful job quilting it too. I may try to machine bind now that I've watched you fold 'to front' and stitch vs to back. I do opposite when binding by hand. Rockets look fun! Grandson's adorable.

I really like this quilt and love your scrappy binding. Wondering if you can answer a question that popped into my brain. Is it possible to cut the strips on 45 degree angles and attach together without needing to cut off the triangle ends?

Yes. The part I cut off just adds bulk. It’s still fine to leave them. It would quilt fine and looks great without cutting then off too.

My grands like playing in my sewing room too! I have a basket of pom pom that they throw all over the place. Nothing gets broken! Curious why you don’t stitch in the ditch?

How big did this quilt turn out and how many blocks did it yield?

The fat Quarter bundle will make 40 squares. I made 42 using extra yardage. My size turned out to be a king size and it was six stars across and seven down.
