I'm 63! If you have executive functioning deficits, NOBODY tells you this stuff. Hopefully, this is getting better. But even looking for help on EF issues hasn't done much for me. KC Davis's stuff might be the first that's actually helping me.

I thought I was the only human on earth that organized my dirty dishes. It makes it so much easier to decide what to shove in the dishwasher and what has to be hand washed. I thought I was crazy, but I'm so glad I saw this. Honestly, thank you. You're book is saving my messy life right now.

I organise my dirty dishes too. I don't have a dishwasher and I only have a small draining area, so all my dishes, cups, pots etc. have to go on to the drainer in a certain order to fit everything on. Also, organising them let's me see that there's either not as many dishes to wash as I first thought, or helps me prioritise what things need to be washed first if there are too many for my drainer in one go.

@weeepsalotts723 11 ай бұрын
@joannescotland6203 same here, it's easier to fit them in the drainer in a specific order. Plus it allows me to rinse off dirtier dishes just before i change out my water if there are multiple sinkloads, keeping my water cleaner for longer.

No joke, I just found your book a day ago and I am in tears over how much freedom and HOPE I feel. Thank you for giving me permission to not fold every piece of clothing. Thank you for making things not feel so overwhelming. YOU. ARE. THE. BEST.

Found you in the TED Talks and your ideas grabbed my heart. Thank you for putting this together in a structured way. I realise now, that I use many of your patterns and tipps most of the time - but I never structured or identified them. And when days get dark around me, I tend to loose the grip of them. So thats when you kicked in: naming and defining those very helpful patterns, I found by myself without realizing it. Thank you so much.

My comment has no relevance to your video whatsoever but, I was really struggling to sleep last night and my worries were spinning in my head. I just needed a comforting person that wasn't expecting the world from me. You were my comforting voice in my head last night. You have allowed me to rest my mind. I cannot remember any of the advice you gave but that's okay. I feel calm and at peace. Thank you for all of the work you have done.

I love how you used this video to show the functionality and also reused old content in this context. It works beautifully in this new form and sounds like it would have been less overwhelming for you to make too :) win-win!

This is great, thank you so much ❤ Couple of things I started to do without realising it is my way of keeping up. 1.Empty dish dryer 2. Put dirty dishes I have in a bowl into the sink 3. Wash those dishes (if it seems too overwhelming wash only a fix number of dishes) 4. Walk around the flat with the bowl and collect dirty dishes. This way I don't get the daunting view of a full and dirty sink-things are in constant rotation even if I skip days/weeks the sink is still empty/ sort of empty. The other thing is rubbish. 1. Bin is full 2. Empty bin 3. Get new bin bag 4. Walk around with new bin bag and collect rubbish around the house 5. Put the half full bin bag into the bin. Again things are in rotation- don't need to deal with an overflowing bin with month's old rubbish and juice at the bottom. No idea why this helps me but it does 😂

I just finished your book on audible. I am likely atistic, my husband and ADHD and my 3 kids under 5 are all atistic. The things you say and suggestions you give are grate. It gives me hope that I won't have to call my mother in law to come help power clean my house every other week so that the kids worker can come over.

Appreciating you KC!! :) Just listened to your audiobook as well. The only thing that is a total nonissue in my world is the trash part why would one not toss trash out asap? OK, if you don't have kids it shouldn't be a challenge, kids, everything is a challenge, one challenge that I actually don't have are kids, lol. But I do have chronic health challenges, I have small wastebaskets around in each room so trash or recycling isn't an issue. I have small rectangle-shaped baskets (the cute paper woven kind I got at Homegoods in the kids' section) and use them for recycling. Then in my kitchen, I have the large trash bin & a reusable large tote bag (again compliments of TJX stores for 99 cents) to put all my recycling in. When all the small round & rectangular baskets around my condo are full I toss them in the kitchen trash or recycling. This way I toss them somewhere immediately each time. I must have 10-12 trash/recycle total on all 3 floors. I also have many repeat items so I don't have to chase things down like scissors, scotch tape, stapler, etc., I know I'm undiagnosed ADHD but as a former psychotherapist I don't need the formal eval to know now in midlife holy crap it's really bad now, so anyone with it, just wait til' your 50s! Yikes!

KC I really enjoyed your book ❤ I have not heard anyone mention compassion and care for yourself when things are overwhelming. Easy read and great tips and seriously if you have really young kids just expect mess I had more patience when mine were younger & they did help tidy up but when they got older the frustration is they can actually help but make out like one task you ask is you telling them to clean the whole house 😂😂

Hi KC, I have been listening to your podcast and following you for a while and I had a question. I'm 34, recently diagnosed ADHD, coming out as non binary and bi and finding out I'm autistic all at once, parenting littles etc. I really want to share my journey on tiktok about the steps I am taking to consciously unmask in a joyous way that gives me so much more space for my own emotional regulation. To encourage others to fight that fear and build space for themselves anyway they can. but I'm just having such a fear and rejection dysphoria about getting started and I wanted to ask how you started on tiktok and got that initial courage. Thank you

Hi KC! I love your content and I've sent your Ted talk to so many people. It really changed my life to see care tasks as functional, not moral. I was wondering if it would be possible for you to start uploading your tik toks to KZfaq shorts? I deleted tiktok because it was just too much of a distraction to me. I know that's probably a huge amount of work, so maybe someone you trust with your login could volunteer to help, or if it's financially feasible maybe you could hire an assistant or a social media manager to help. I'm sure people ask you this a lot, so I also want to say, you're doing a lot already and if KZfaq shorts aren't in the cards, that's okay! You're still making a huge difference for people and your work matters. Thank you so much for your vulnerability and your willingness to help others.
