HOW TO VINYL WRAP YOUR RC | Axial SCX10ii Cherokee XJ Build

This week, I'm back at my #RoadToAxialfest build, showing you how to vinyl wrap your rc body. Thanks to SOR Graphics for the vinyl Overlander wrap for my Cherokee XJ. I also installed some other scale details from RC4WD including rear window guards and a Tough Armor front bumper. This thing is really coming together!

I'M IN LOVE!! :D For weeks I've been looking for a 30yo Cherokee, but I can't seem to find one in great shape or properly restored... I love this SCX kit above everything else on the market, even my TRX-4... one day I'll buy it, and when I do, this is exactly how I want it to look like, simple/clean look, old-school. Stylish, nice black/sand contrasts, maybe go for the olive-gold, as I love it on my car...and with some cool faded graphics... Very COOLl! Nice job. ;) Thanks for sharing... definitely be saving this video. :D

Nice, them bulges by tail lights can be detailed with hobby knife. If they don't lay flat dust will get in and start the unraveling of the rest of it. I like the black stripe on the hood to.

But I can see that even though you haven't been into RC Crawlers for too long, your skills and techniques have improved exponentially!! 👍👍👏👏👏👏 I really like that Wrap! I'm an Old Fart who swore he would never do those... But the way you demonstrated it, and emphasized how it gives a Scale panel gap look - you've made me really want to try it. 😳 It really does add depth to a Lexan Body! I was also worried about being able to actually do it. But I used to do Window Tinting... The way you showed it, it's basically the SAME thing! Thank you, great Video. 😊 Carmine ✈🚂🚙

Yep it's very similar to window tinting as far as using the soapy water and also being a bit tedious! I'm sure you would do just fine. This was my first attempt, and it turned out pretty decent.

Very cool idea & a you did an incredible job on your rig, it looks sweet! Just my opinion but a vinyl wrap could be applied to a hard body as well I'm thinking, wouldn't have to be a just a lexan deal I wouldn't think but that's of course just my thoughts & perhaps I'm completely wrong. I'd be willing to give a vinyl wrap a try in any case, had to share your video as well, to cool not to, great job & tips, thanks for sharing your expertise.

Yeah this could totally work for a hard body. I'm not sure what options SOR has for hardbodies though, I think most of their pre-designed wraps are for lexan bodies.

Can this be done on a lightly beat up body? Or does it have to be new and completely smooth. I was also thing of doing just a bit of wet sanding to smooth out scratches.

Yeah I mentioned this but then cut it out of the video! But you can use an old body and cover it. I think the wet sanding it smooth would help, and also a few coats of paint on the exterior.

It's printed on so they can do any color you want. Check out their pre-designed wraps here: www.shopsorgraphics.com/collections/sor-pre-designed-series-wraps And within each style they have different body types they fit and you can ask for a different color
