Yeah, something was clearly wrong with it. We saw it sit there earlier the same day...It didn't move even when the cars drove really close so I really hope that I helped it by making it move off the road :)

Soldroppen he might have been knocked by a car or something- so in a state of shock and resting. On the way home from work in the dark once I saw what looked like a bit of bin bag but I did a double take as I walked past because I saw a bit of orange. I kneeled down and it was a little blackbird! He was sitting on the pavement. I gave him a lot stroke on the head and he closed his little eyes and fell forward on his little beak bless him. The beach runners go running down that path in a huge crowd so I thought I’d try to move him so he was safe and he quite happily let me pick him up and curled his little foot around my finger and when I went to put him down again he didn’t want to put his feet down!! He was alright in the end! He came back round and hopped off after a while but we’d had some really strong winds off the coast that day so I think he might have just been exhausted trying to fly against the wind or something

It’s 9 years now and it’s on my recommended list…. So basically this seagull is an early fledgling. It has developed almost everything but still isn’t ripe enough to fly yet. It definetly tried flying and landed on the ground. He probs stays in the same area where his parents can still feed him until he’s ready to fly

Something was wrong with that bird. They don’t stay on the ground where predators can get ahold of them. I’m convinced that’s the case after it had such a lethargic reaction to the mans prodding.

I don’t think it’s sick or harmed in anyway since it looks pretty healthy and very aware of it’s surroundings, what it does look like is a young seagull which probably got separated from it’s family in some way

He’s probably not very well if he’s sleeping on the ground. When they chased him he seemed to try and fly but couldn’t. Might be a new baby, it takes them a few days with mom and dad still feeding them to get into the air.
