About this Location: The Red-a-ven Brook runs from its headwaters east of High Willhays in Dartmoor, running north between West Mill Tor and Yes Tor. Tumbling through a series of waterfalls towards a ford on Black Down. From there it cuts through a moorland valley that leads to Meldon Aplite Quarries. Then down over more waterfalls, both made by nature, and man made when the Quarry was active on that side of the hill. The Red-a-ven brook meets the West Okement River in the West Okement Valley (the location of this video) between Meldon Reservoir and Meldon Viaduct. The Red-a-ven brook rises by the highest ground in southern England... feel free to use this fact at parties!

Thanks 🙂 Yeah I got more Middle-earthesque locations around me to do more of this Painting In Middle-earth series. Something to look forward to each time the weather starts getting nice in the summer, well should be nice, this is England after all 😂
