After soaking for 20min in mild detergent, no rinsing needed? Why?

Its best to rinse out the detergent. Do not wring it out and do not use a spin cycle, as this might damage the puffer jacket. Good luck

@@how-tohouse Sorry, but this is fear-mongering nonsense. Synthetic fill or natural, these garments are NOT made from tissue paper. They will not disintegrate from being spun at 600-1000 rpm, and in doing so, will need less time tumble dried on a low heat setting. Do NOT air dry down/feather items, as this has the potential to allow mould/mildew to form. That’s a sure fire way to destroy a jacket. These types of jackets, depending on how often worn & body moisture in contact with, should only need washing 1-3 times a year, at most. If it’s your favourite type of jacket, invest in a second one (different brand/colour) to rotate usage, thereby extending the life of each.
