Hi Angela. I am a sole cleaner, just my own house, but your tips are priceless. After a complete house clean twice a year, I’m down to 15 minutes a day deep clean and an hour a week over all quick clean. I’m a great planner so I know what I’m doing each day and my master schedule insures that I deep clean all areas of my house. Thank you for your knowledge 🪣🧹🪠👍

No fabric softener after rinse cycle?? I'm new to using microfiber cloths 😊
@HappySunshineDay
@HappySunshineDay 2 жыл бұрын
@@ameliabyrne3907 I was taught to not use fabric softener on ANY towels. Fabric softener imparts a film on cloth to make it feel softer and eliminate static. This is great for clothing and bedding, but not for towels and cleaning cloths. I'm no pro, but here's what I have learned: We want our bath towels to be "thirsty," absorbing as much water as possible. A layer of fabric softener gets in the way of that. With cleaning or dusting microfiber cloths or mitts, we want those to keep their static electricity to help hold onto the dust next time we clean. I hope this is helpful - and please correct me if I am mistaken. 😀

Im glad i learned this. I only knew that microfiber shouldn't be dried with a dryer sheet. I didn't know heat ruins them. Didn't know to wash them separately. Very interesting. I've been moving to cleaning my house with microfiber instead of paper towels or a kitchen towel with terry cloth. Its better for the planet, but only if im taking care of the tools properly to make them last as long as possible.

I have tried many times to hire a cleaning service, but they are all so terrible that I can't justify the money. One cleaning service used to wipe off the toilets, including the inside rims, then take that same cloth to wipe off the sink and faucets. When we bought our home it was professionally cleaned just before we moved in. My family was present for this since we had to let the cleaners in and out. My father even purchased the hardwood floor cleaner they used based on their advice since they were the pros (it was also what they used that day) When I saw the house on moving day it wasn't visibly filthy...just didn't seem as clean as it should've been. When it was time to mop my room and I was handed the cleaner that the pros recommended and used previously "method daily wood cleaner" I was immediately skeptical when I was told the instructions of "spray it and then wipe it away". Sure enough that's the instructions on the bottle. I give it a go and am convinced there's no way this could actually be doing anything. I give up and break out the mop and bucket...the water turned an intense deep brown. It took weeks of regular mopping to get to where I am now. Finally I'm able to mop and the water isn't Hershey chocolate brown afterwards. I was so relieved the day I mopped and the water was still clear afterwards. Out of curiosity I looked at Amazon to see how much my family wasted on this "cleaner" and to see the reviews...as well as to double check and make sure I used it correctly. I was absolutely floored (no pun intended) when I saw how high the reviews were. People were raving about how great it is! I don't get it!

@@jrenee1040 I just don't get it. Why do some cleaners do such a terrible job? I have had similar experience with floors. One of my prior cleaners used something that left the floor sticky. I took a wet paper towel and wiped a small area and the paper towel was filthy when I looked at it.

Excellent place to buy them. The automotive department is where we buy the Blue Magic Stain and Spot Lifter amzn.to/3Dkp3ox the Krud Kutter Original Degreaser amzn.to/3Bo74x4 the scrub sponge squeegee (we do cut the handle shorter with a pipe cutter) amzn.to/2WSdPYU for cleaning showers, and our edgeless microfiber cloths. amzn.to/3FqohrV Note: Wal-Mart is hit or miss on these above items (depending on the store) but I find that Autozone has most of them in stock most of the time - and at much better prices than you can find on Amazon.

I must say: Stainless Steel appliances happen to be the absolute worst. They smear and scratch if the wind blows. Who in their right mind would buy any stainless steel appliance? No way!
@AskAngelaBrown
@AskAngelaBrown 2 жыл бұрын
When the stainless steel appliances came out they were horrible and I too dreaded cleaning them. I found over the last 15 years or so though they've become more rugged in their finish. I'm not sure how they did it, but the newer ones are easy to clean and hold their finish. The key is to use a damp microfiber cloth with a pinch of dry Bar Keepers Friend powder cleanser to clean up any smudges, smears or streaks before flipping the cloth and wiping the cleanser off with the other side. The Bar Keepers Friend was designed 138 years ago for the stainless steel in restaurants, and bars and is to this day one of the best stainless steel cleaners I've ever found. It looks like this amzn.to/3mCCcCS (but buy it at the grocery store. It's about $2 per can)

Some of the finger resistant finishes are amazing! My dishwasher kinda seems like there's actually a plastic or polyurethane coating on top of the stainless steel. It doesn't get very dirty and it's so easy to clean.

@@AskAngelaBrown Thanks for the tip. I usually spray mine with Wegmans Stainless steel cleaner. It leaves a coating that resists finger prints and grime. I do my metal taps with it too.

Our cleaning company we use stainless steel cleaner but I prefer not to use it I honestly just use a bit of dish soap and water and I go with the grain and I can make it look beautiful. As long as it's not already really stained

@@edwinacaparelli9911 I love a drop of Dawn original to polish a cultured marble bath vanity. First I clean it, then the drop of Dawn rubbed lightly all around with dry microfiber. Gives a luster. Learned it from a lovely Jamaican cleaner. So I can imagine it would be perfect for what you described.

hey there thanks for all you do. I was wondering...have you heard anything about micro fibre being bad environmental wise? I heard someone on another video say it was...I know here, the older women who do house keeping use receiving blankets-the blankets for babies...one wet and one dry. I know that wouldn't be useful for those cleaners that are professional, but for the home, it works well.
@AskAngelaBrown
@AskAngelaBrown Жыл бұрын
Thanks for your support! Concerns about the environmental impact of microfiber towels have been raised due to the release of microplastic particles when they are washed. Using receiving blankets as an alternative for home cleaning is a creative and eco-friendly option. While professional cleaners may have specific requirements, exploring sustainable choices for personal cleaning is commendable. Keep up the good work in finding environmentally conscious solutions!
