Does this seem to hold up again any cooking oil stains? Seeing that a lot of other sealants seem to have problems with that, leaning towards tung oil. A year later review video would be awesome!!

You've convinced me! Tung oil and beeswax are the way to go. I was about to order a bunch of Cheng sealer for our cement countertops that the last tenant here put in and never sealed. We will be adding the wooden trim around the edges as well the way you did, it looks amazing!

I just finished my new concrete countertops and sealed them with Tung oil (partly because of this video) thanks! We are very happy with how ours turned out!

How is it holding up with water, food, kids etc?

@@ruggedlifejewelry So far so good. I used 3 or 4 coats of Tung oil and then waxed it. It seems waterproof enough but when an area has gotten a little dull I just throw a coat of wax on it, very easy!

@@JohnScaneArt Hey John, I did the same thing but my top layer is tacky and sticky and dried strange. I think I didn't remove enough. Do you have any idea what I can do to gently remove the top layer without ruining it? I love the way it all looks btw, really natural :)

@@ruggedlifejewelry I'm not entirely sure - but, I wonder if you rubbed a fresh layer mixed with a bit of mineral spirits over the tacky layer, it might dissolve it a bit? Then you could rub off all the excess. I've seen some people mix a bit of mineral spirits with the tung oil but I've never tried that on concrete... My countertops have been wearing pretty well and seem waterproof but I do re-wax them once a month. I'm thinking of doing another coat of tung oil just to see what they look like. They probably don't need it but I want to see if it changes how they look. Anyway, if you try that let me know if it works.

I love this. We poured our own island top, in place, and also wrapped in wood(I had many guys tell me I couldn't use wood around concrete 😂) I'm thrilled that you used tung oil and beeswax. I love the natural, non chemical way on most things. Do you have links to the brands you used? How bad did it smell? It looks fantastic and I'm glad you went for it! Thank you

I'd be interested to know how it's doing a year later. I used some kind of sealer that Lowe's recommended and put on several coats, and about a year later there's all sorts of cracks and stains and divots in places where I tried to wash up things that spilled. I'm going to have to replace my whole countertop soon.

Hi there! My Concrete was still not sealed after 3 coats so I applied another coat a month later and it didn't fully absorb so now there is a thin tacky sticky glossly layer. I don't mind how it looks but some areas have little strange bubble type texture and it is unreasonable to stay this way and impossible to clean. How can I remove the top layer without ruining the entire counter? I am trying mineral oil but everything I use to wipe it off is getting stuck and creating more issues, also do I let it sit? What would you do? Thanks :)

Did you buff your countertop after applying the beeswax?

Hi will this work on feather finished concrete 3 layered? I was told to use chengs but it seems easy to mess up and after all this work I'm scared. There is laminate underneath. Thanks
