I have been waxing for 15 years. I wish i have found out about the flat mop sooner. This is a lot faster for sure.

We use wax wands with a back pack pouch! This is the old school way of doing things . It’s a wand with a flat mop, has a tube that comes out from the pouch in the back pack which is released out onto the floor directly in front of your pad with a trigger system at the top of the pole! Nice work

Been waxing floors at my hospital job for 2 years now. I absolutely despise the wand with the back pouch. Weight of the wax throws me off especially when working for hours. And the "flat" pad it comes with is meant to be used in one direction. Flat pad and this method make it so much easier. Especially when covering large areas

Too easy to leave puddles/ imperfections going side to side, figure 8 pattern works best.

10 yrs exp Last night I tried the flat mop method for the first time, and yeah, so much easier to edge cleanly and spread! nice thin coats. And wasted alot less wax since I only put down on the floor only what I need. Not to mention, clean up is super easy. I should have tried this a long time ago!
@rocman9137 Жыл бұрын
I still feel like i can go faster with a fresh White wax mop and a bucket but ill try the flat mop again.

Whoever came up with this technique is a genius the only concern I have is should be a better way to pour the wax over the floor

So when do you edge it? If I'm stripping I usually edge it every coat, but I've been told after a couple coats I don't need to anymore. Are you saying to wait until the last coat to edge it? Also, why do you go in figure 8s and not more straight back and fourth?

I’ve been waxing floors for 10 yrs and never used this method seems back breaking to be bending over and over pouring it but I like it when cutting areas. To me the mop bucket seems much easier but heavier to mop specifically when it comes to 10,000 sq ft but I’ll try it in small areas and also I would need to pour out of the 5 gallon bags into a gallon to pour seems like more work to be pouring into gallons since the hospital provides the 5 gallon floor finish Hmmmmm what to do? 🤔
@TheLoobis4 жыл бұрын
I like it. What do you think of the Home Depot Zep product? I've stripped and finished floors several times and always find the polish to not last. Don't know if it's the product.
@wesleysmith42814 жыл бұрын
It depends on the number of coats you put on and if the floors are maintained between refinishings.

I have been a floor finisher for about 5 years now and i used the string mop and bucket method, and thought i would try using the flat mop and poor method as you show and its way better i think and much faster. but it seems like i use more wax with pouring on the floor opposed using a mop bucket.
@listenhere16233 жыл бұрын
I just stripped and waxed a small kitchen with a sponge mop and elbow grease to get up a bunch of glue after installing. I used a swiffer something with a rag attached to smooth out the wax I sprayed on the floor with a 1$ spray bottle. I guarantee it's better than this hacks work. 14' by 11'
@bigvgroup2792 жыл бұрын
you definitely use less because a mop soaks up a lot of wax

What’s the purpose of burnishing a few days later? What if you don’t burnish it?
@pookaill3 жыл бұрын
Burnishing makes the floor pop and melts the sealer/wax into the floor and might hide streaks.
@juliosandoval82442 жыл бұрын
its best to wax the floor than 2 weeks later putt maintaner and burnish the floor to polish seals it better.

@frederickweemsjr95113 жыл бұрын
About 15 to 20 minutes with a blower are two on it but make sure you have the blowers facing up in the air at the start so you don’t blow the wet wax up and make waves in your floor and you can touch it and see if it’s sticky to the touch
