I watched that being made and still have no idea how it was made. Looms are wild

I’ve used simple hand looms to make small tapestries but this is just... wow! Your work is also absolutely lovely and I’m sure Anni Albers would be happy that you’re educating people about weaving techniques. I hope I can someday try this myself!

Excellent video! I had no clue how complicated weaving could be. She called the weavers of ancient Peru her "great teachers".

Fascinating to watch including the patience in setting up. If it was me I am sure I would be tangled and confused constantly by the process.

I don’t think so many words have ever gone over my head until the explanation of the use of this loom. I don’t even know how to sew on a button

Winding a warp is a lot harder than she makes it look!

And a warping mill is not an essential piece of equipment by any means - far to big and expensive for most hobby weavers. A frame which will hang flat against a wall, or warping posts which will clamp temporarily to a table (and then live in a drawer) are both equally effective and just as quick to use. And of course, using a rigid heddle loom, they are usually direct warped straight onto the loom. For such a complex design as shown on this video though, a rhl is not really suitable, but it is possible to work a lot more than just plain weave on them.

It seems to be an ARM patronic with selectron MAS or selectrom pmr machine to send the file to the loom. Arm in swizerland does not produce those looms anymoore but I heared in england there is one company which is going to produce them again. I love this video too we have also 5 of them at university of art at kassel germany. So greetings from germany!

I don't know what this has to do with Anni Albers. You're just showing how to warp the loom and pass the shuttle.

This shows nothing about her aesthetic and decision making process. In other words, this is how to weave like a weaver.

Geometrical patterns are not "Art". Albers was a good weaver and designer, not an artist. And you, my dear young weaver, although your fabric is interesting, are operating a semi-industrial electronically programmed machine. You are not weaving like a true ancient artist. Sorry.

And yet here you are, using an electronically programmed machine, adding nothing to the conversation. Please point us to the real artists who do not use the best tools available to them, whenever they happen to live.
