Thank you for sharing your knowledge. A few years ago I left my job to pursue my own business. That said, money is tighter when self employed. I am handy and enjoy knowing that I and anyone else who tries can save money and fix or repair things. It used to be learned from your dad, neighbors or just from asking around. Great Video... and I Thank You for posting it. Our Maytag dryer is 15-1/2 years old, and its original drum drive belt finally gave up the ghost. I watched this video in December of last year, and ordered a new drum drive belt, an idler pulley/bracket assembly, and only one (!) drum roller from your company. I failed to notice that there are two drum rollers on the machine in the video back then... had I noticed that, I would have ordered two. My Mistake! I do suggest that in the description of the drum roller on your website, that you note that there are two drum rollers on these dryers, as it only makes sense (at least it does to me), that they should both be replaced at the same time. I opened up the dryer this morning, and sure enough, there are two drum rollers on the inside of the dryer's rear panel. Thankfully, both of the original drum rollers free-wheel as they should when spun by hand. That was not the case for the idler bracket/pulley assembly, which due to the age of the dryer, I had the foresight to order. I will be ordering another drum roller from you soon, and sometime in the future, I will open the dryer up and replace both drum rollers. Thanks Again!

Very helpful. I wasn't replacing my belt, but was looking for a reason why my dryer was running so long without drying. So I needed to open the front and get into the machine. Turns out it was a combination of stoppage beneath the lint filter and then I found that the lint pipe leading outside was stopped up at its exit point on the outer wall of the house. Thanks for helping me get started.

Taking a picture of the wires makes it easier to get them reconnected to the correct terminals.

I have two wires on my bulkhead. One wasn’t connected when I pulled it off, and I don’t see a slot to put it into. Any ideas? Otherwise, a good video.

Most of these DIY dryer belt videos say to put the flat side on the drum. Why do you say put the ribbed side on the drum instead? Now I’m confused on how to do this properly.

my dryer will not spin while plugged in the dryer simply hums but drum does not spin. i can take my arm and spin the drum and the belt and pulley both spin. could this be a stretched belt?

No one has a video for hotpoint dryers anywhere! No clue how the pulley is supposed to stay locked in.
