I am a decent player, but not seen a final table for some time. So I went back to basics today, using this strategy along with my experience of getting people off hands, recognising betting patterns etc… Finished 6th out of 246.

Back in the day I was playing the Bikes daily’s when they’d get 100+. I started tracking all the bust outs I saw, and noticed a huge percentage lost with small pairs, and bad aces. I decided to try and stop playing those hands and found a shocking amount of success. I’d also keep special note of players who want to play every ace they’re dealt, and I’d play aggressive against them when I had a big ace. Always remember, if you only win the blinds once per round, you can never lose.

Yo dude, this strategy helped me to the 2nd last table of my first live poker tournament ever. People really don't notice your playing super tight when the action goes round at such hight tempo, you know because the blind are raising. So it's not as if you haven't played a hand in half an hour, more like 10 minutes. Worked like magic.

Hi Vince, what you seem to be complaining about is a technical term that we commonly refer to as "math." Videos with a "clickbait" title/thumb like this, outperform regular videos by a very wide margin. In fact, it is not even close. So I am just giving the people what they clearly want! You taught me all of this and in most poker sessions all i do is win. I have some losses when im on an off day or whenever. but mostly all i do now is win. of course I also only play bad players. I play a similar game and I’ve done VERY WELL! Being patient is the number one way to win at poker I’ve found. Hit the flop and play aggressive or slow play depending on your hand. ALWAYS PLAY FOR BEST ODDS 1ST AND VALUE 2ND!!

The people at low stakes won't notice your range is so true. Remember years ago when I played super tight. 3 bet a hand, and the one guy paying attention who raised, said "probably Aces because you play so few hands". Very next hand I have AKs and raise. Get 5 callers. Most live players at lower level games only focus on what they have.

I like all of these tips but I think when the blinds are lower and you have a good chip lead you can play more hands, at least to the flop, than the cards you listed. If you only play "good hands" you can miss out on a lot of good hands. If you're fat stack and you get K2 suited & blinds have only gone up once or twice and you only have to call minimum to see the flop then there is no reason not to play that hand & see more of your hand

He is lowstakes specialist, maybe best one out there. But focused almost only to that, yes, he knows some of the midstakes stuff (and maybe even higher) but depth of knowledge is probably much shallower there. So... you are probably better off for looking someone elses advice for mid / higher stakes.

Generally speaking, this is legit strategy for 1/3. Just make sure to remember the type of players you’re doing this against, and if they are aware of the type of player you are (ie a river value better) bc they will just let you bet for them and then 3-bet your value bet on the river with their set, or even just call with something like a king flush draw after hitting that king. Many instances it’s better to check the river to avoid the circumstances where “only a better hand” is calling you, but overall, this is a good strategy. Thanks

Also add in STOP BEATING YOURSELF. Many players create a narrative of how they think a guy is playing based off a few hands. They deviate from their strategy based on this narrative and when they get busted up a few times they change their strategy again trying to adjust, and then down the rabbit hole they go making adjustments when all they had to do was keep it simple. Playing the game based off what you THINK a guy is doing is a surefire way to ruin. Develop solid fundamentals, stick to a solid strategy, and LET THE OTHER GUY MAKE THE MISTAKE is key to dominating low stakes poker.

@@ochellepaul7229 the time for study is away from the table. You don't want to spend too much time making too many adjustments at the table, especially if you're new. If the adjustments you make aren't automatic (like whales playing every hand or a drunk player at the table) then your better to stick to the fundamentals of what you've learned until you're able to make said automatic adjustments. Like Nathan says all the time... study, study, study. The best adjustments are made to your game BEFORE you sit down at the table.

To this strategy i would just add dont open pairs from 55 down on utg or utg 2, and also tend to open K10 std as long as ur in co, btn, sb, and ofcourse u really forgot to add that on the btn ofcourse u have to forget averything else and open a million more hands, as long as they are not 62off u have to open them on the btn.. the mathematical advantage is way too strong not to open them, no matter the stakes..

Don’t bother dude. This guy is clueless. Anyone that says “only play these specific hands and fold everything else” is not a winning player. Even daniel negeanu said he never won at poker until he stopped only playing supreme hands. By this guys advice there’s gonna be people calling all ins with 87s and pocket 2s. There’s situations you play 45o and there’s situations you’ll fold pocket 10s. That’s poker. You can’t ever say “only play these hands” and what sucks is there’s a lot of beginners here saying they’re going to implement this strategy🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️

I'm a TAP player (Tight Aggressive Position) player. Kept good records since 1992 and won consistently first at limit then at NLH. Know I've left thousands of $$$ on table by avoiding volatility, but have ground away for years. POSITION POSITION POSITION!!! Often play much tighter early than you recommend, often dumping trouble hands preflop (AJ, KQ,KJ, QJ, lower pairs, etc). When situation/game/POSITION is right will raise, even reraise with 82os or other really garbage low cards. Use very basic strategy but has worked for me for decades.

Playing in position and watching how others players play certain hands in certain positions really does reveal a lot of information , if buddy is raising KJ off from UTG more then 3x you know he’s loose and will call off any pair. At least usually some pros have mastered looking like a fish

Anyone play WSOP mobile app and familiar with daily blitz? Basically being able to read the board fast and choose between two hands. Besides putting physical cards out in front of you, any ideas or apps to help you read the board quickly and assess your hand like the daily blitz game? Also for helping in being able to put the opponent in ranges when assessing what cards they might have.

Great advice! But be sure to do some randomization too. Following any deterministic rules too closely makes you very exploitable. You've got to mix it up a little bit. Also, can we make the title a bit less irritating?

Only ever playing premium hands doesn't work. You get blinded to death, you get folds any time you raise or call raise, and you see a series of hands where you could have limped for $2, would have flopped a joint, and then the pot gets big as action happens that you're not in. The conundrum is that you have to show just enough looseness to get action when you get good cards. Also it's incredibly frustrating to see every time you get AQ and AK to totally miss the flop, then periods of card dead for hours. If you're card dead for ten hands and you decide to play 9,3off as though it's KK, you get a similar reaction. Depends on the table texture

I have made more money playing 5-4 then any other hand. I play 5-4 almost every time I get it. Also position. I play position poker anytime I have the hammer. If I am in 4th position and positions 5-10 fold, it is the same as being on the button. Being last to bet I have the hammer. You don't have to be on the button, just as long as you are in the last betting position. The reason that I make more money on 5-4 is that the person playing an ace is more unllikely to fold after he hits the ace on the turn and I get my straight. Also 5-4 is easy to fold if I don't hit the flop.

If you apply this strategy on the cash game, your stack would be bleeding to dead. When you have strong hand, everybody know then you don't get good profit. Th'at's real life
