I ran for Vice President as a joke. Didn’t campaign at all, printed out a singular picture of me holding a cooked egg while wearing clout glasses, printed it and put it up on the band room door. Three years later and I’m Looking forward to my senior year Vice President speech.

I ran for president and I'm getting the results on Monday and a lot of people said they voted for me but I think I'll lose 😑😑 Four years later: It is so very strange to be looking back at this time and how I felt then! Don't be nervous. It's over and you either won or lost so there is nothing you can do. And when there's nothing you can do, there is nothing that you have to stress about. With that said; good luck! I hope that you win!

This video is great! It has all the keep points which kept me motivated in my own election. I was running for President for the Student Council and honestly was the least popular out of the 5 others running. There were a lot of people that didn't run but wanted to since they starting to doubt themselves. SO DONT KEEP MAKING EXCeSES cause they didn't even have a chance at winning since they didn't even sign up. I ended up winning the election by having a balance of being serious but putting a few jokes in my campaign and speech. So, yes, a lot of elections are based on popularity, but if you 100% believe that you'll win, you could win. And if you don't win, it would be so much better than not trying at all and regretting it for months or even years, when you knew that you were totally capable of winning.

When I was in 6th grade I ran for student council on a whim, but the girl I ran against won. I felt it coming though, because she was a Miss Popular for one thing; in fact, other students in the classroom made it clear they would've voted for her, and they expressed joy upon learning that she did in fact win. Both me and the girl received a jolly rancher, but then she went on to receive several other prizes, with the teacher repeatedly telling me "Nice try" and congratulating the winner. All that did was rub it in, along with the fact that other students were making it clear they were glad of the results. I never ran for student council again, but for other reasons though. And, believe it or not, a couple years later in 8th grade, that very same girl helped another student sexually harass me in the lunch line. She was telling him to ask me what my...unmentionables, smelled like and tasted like, and he went along with it.

Well I won my elections and I didn't watch this video, but I hope to use this information in the future. I was elected Sophomore Secretary and it's my second year in a row at my school. You can do anything and show the effort, this is a great self confidence booster and leadership roles. Here is some of suggestions if you want to be Secretary: I'm quote known for my handwriting looking like a font and good note taking skills. This includes writing skills as well. You should try this position if you are into that, I was mostly writing stuff during meetings, writing song suggestions from events, collecting important pieces of paper and handing them out to my class. It was quite fun, but this was just Freshmen year. I have no clue for Sophomore year so let's see how I do this year in the council. Keep in my mind we are during corona virus and it changed up the way student council would normally run. I would have to put way more work than last year.

Hi there! :) I know this is probably a hard thing to ask for but you just need to bring it all you got and you have to keep fighting. True that she may have more friends than you but i can assure you that she not friends with the entire school. Focus focus on your speech and advertisement posters. On your speech you cant sound shy and quiet that shows your incapable of the position. so you have to just fake it and get rid of that shy stigma. student council is all about leadership and leadership is about being not caring about what other people think of you. And if she has your grades vote than i suggest talk to the other grade levels and getting their votes. goodluck with everything! :)

I’ve been debating wether or not I should run for months now. The only thing stopping me is I’m horrible at public speaking. I can write a good speech but when it comes to saying it in front of my entire school (750 people) kills me. I can’t raise my hand in my class of 30 people without having a mini panic attack.
