How to: Wire a 2-Wire AC Sensor

This video demonstrates how to wire an ifm 2-wire AC capacitive sensor, but the same principles should apply for wiring any 2-wire AC sensor. The sensor shown here is the KI0202, and to correctly wire it, you'll need the sensor, a power supply, a relay (used as the load), a fuse and a fuse terminal, some spare wires, and the appropriate screwdrivers.

You turn off the power suply, but you aren´t working whit 24v of the power suply, you are working directly to the 120VAC

lol When I saw that I was shaking my head. If had half a brain or gave a crap about their viewers safety they would be using an isolation transformer as an AC source not the AC input to a DC output power supply.

Hi, I have a 220 VAC, 400mA Capacitive sensor and a 10A 220 VAC relay. Can I use the similar combination (without any additional electrical components) to replace a 10 A foot pedal switch of a machine (220VAC, 10A) ??? Or do I need to add more elements to the circuit???

crown cork is stainless steel type of material then how it is attracted by inductive proximity and refro reflective photosensor?

For many inductive units, the sensing range on stainless steel is reduced by the factor 0,7. However, we also have inductive devices with K1 technology, which maintain the same switching distance regardless of the material of the metal. Photoelectric sensors without polarizing filters may not be able to recognize the difference between the triple mirror and the shiny crown cap. We therefore recommend using a device with a polarizing filter. The light plane is rotated by 90° by the mirror and the sensor is able to distinguish reflecting light from the mirror and the object.

How to wire PNP and NPN type Sensor?

Hello Stalin Subbiah, the device - which is shown in the video - has no reverse polarity protection and therefore can only be wired as PNP variant. NPN is not possible.
