The wire next to the black on all switches goes to circuit for your dash. In other words this will light up the words on switch when the car is on. The wire next to green on switch always goes to lights this will power up lights. This method will allow both icon and words on when in use.

These switches use 2 bulbs. Is there a way to have the font “light bar” be lit always (with the dash lights) and then have the light bar image only illuminate when the light bar is actually turned on? I feel this would be as oem as possible but may be difficult to wire it this way..

I appreciate your honesty. Therefore I subscribed. Because you are honest saying you don't know what you are doing. I did this stuff over 30 years ago with my 77 CJ5. Back in the day it was so much easier because it was bare bones and not all this electronic crap! I just got my 21 TRD Offroad, and have no clue with all the wire. I plan to do it a little different going with the trigger contro. Have to be careful as to not void out warranty items. Thanks for the great content

I would suggest the SP-9100 SWITCH PANEL POWER SYSTEM and TOYOTA TACOMA SDHQ BUILT SWITCH PROS OEM KEYPAD MOUNT.

If u connect the free red wire only the Lightbar (word) will lit up. When hit the switch to engage the light bar both Lightbar (word) & lightbar image (on top) will lit up. I like lt lit when its dark. Easy to see.

Hey dude, if it is backlight with the blue light all the time then you have the wiring wrong. Did you match up the wiring like I did with mine?? Or were your wires different than mine?

Did your Ditch lights wiring have the same color? I had purchased the Diode Dynamics Ditch light and the switch have black and 2 red wires. I'll be connecting it to cali raised OEM switch too, but i have no clue where the two red wires from Diode Dynamics will connect to the oem switch. Any help would be great. Thanks!

I didn’t see you mention how you connected the light bar? Did you not connect it to the battery? Which part went to the battery? Maybe I missed that part 🤷‍♂️
