In this install, we wire up the steering wheel controls for the 07 Santa Fe. The head unit from Seicane comes pre-wired and set up for steering wheel controls. If you install a unit without the can-bus decoder then you can use this method to get your steering wheel controls to function.
Get the unit in this video here: new model

Check out more units from Seicane for your ride here:

To check wiring for your vehicle go here:

You may not need the adapter but you can see what wires you would require like in this video.

You Sir are amazing! I have a 2012 Hyundai Santa Fe Gold. A diesel edition in the Philippines. Replaced with a non-supported Seacane. Came with a universal steering adaptor module. Tried every combination (6 switches) nothing worked. Came across your video; everything worked perfectly. Thought I might have had to get a PAC system. Saved me a lot of time. Very well done!

Hello. I looked at a map of the factory connectors for the factory stereo PAC710S and see that Connector C, a 20-pin connector, houses two wires for the steering wheel controls from the chassis: pin C2-5 (Steering Wheel Remote) and pin C2-6 (Remote GND). But they do not correspond to the connector that you were showing in your video. Should I be trying to use the wires from Connector C?

@Esqu3l3to, thank you for the detailed video. Your videos are fantastic. Where did you purchase the wiring adapter that includes pin 11? I also have the 2007 Santa Fe with the same two connectors. In every aftermarket adapter I have looked at, pins 11 and 12 are missing.

Thanks, I did not buy a different adapter harness for this car. I re-pinned the wires I needed to connect for the steering wheel controls. You can move wires to where you want/need. If I remember correctly, you need to pop up the wire "latch" with a small flat head screw driver. Then you can pull wires and place them in different locations. Make sense?

Will follow back. Have a ix45 santa fe for 2013 and up. I am 2014 so I got lucky with Secaine 9" android screen. Beautiful thing but no steering wheel and UI appear to be buggy. I sent an email to the store and asking if they are able to send some info to allow me change the launcher style and hopefully bring more customizable this way. I had the steering wheel control on original unit but not this new unit. I just noticed on harness I have a key1 brown solid wire. I guess i have to look around and plug that in. This guide is only assurance for a model prior to mine so it was close but not a same harness. Will follow back once I figure this out. Liked this video so I can come back

@esqu3l3to How did you figure out that pin 12 should be ground? I connected pin 11 to KEY1 wire on Android head unit and I tried connecting pin 12 to KEY2 connector. Also tried leaving pin 12 unplugged but in either case the head unit did not recognize the steering wheel buttons. I will try connecting pin 12 to GND. Cannot it connected to the GND wire in the harness or does it have to be connected to car body?

They are good, I thought the same. I got a few and they were good, having said that the sound was not as good as I expected. They are making newer units with higher quality sound chips. Would be interesting to hear one.

@esqu3l3to 2 жыл бұрын
Honestly, depends what you are looking to get out of it. Practicallity, its good with all the features it comes with. Most times its plug and play. If you are wanting good sound quality as any other aftermarmet unit, you may be dissapointed. As I said before, they offer a "higher" quality sound chip but I have not had one so I cant say for sure how they actually sound. Again, depends on what you are looking to get out of it and features you want over your oem unit.

@@esqu3l3to Thanks for your response and believe it or not just based on your comments you've helped me decide. Considering the age of the Camry I don't wanna spend 600 even though the other has superior quality. As it is the Camry stock JBL has an amazing sound punch and I've seen the newer Seicane reviews and they say it's become better in terms of sound quality so I will go with the latest Seicane. Much appreciate it and who knows this might be the reason for my 1st KZfaq video 😆

@esqu3l3to
@esqu3l3to 2 жыл бұрын
This is the non-infinity model. I did not have to add any modules to reduce the volume output. Depending on what you installed you can lower the output sound setting of the radio, cd, bluetooth etc. Also, making sure the EQ settings on the amp are flat prior to installing the new radui helps.

Do you know if the wiring on the Santa Fe GLS (which did not come stock with the steering wheel audio controls) still has the wiring in the harness for the pin 11/pin 12? Mine did not come with the audio control buttons on the steering wheel stock, but only the cruise control buttons. i was doing research and looking a the part #s for the clock spring and its the same for the Santa Fes that came with the audio controls. So that seems to be good. There is a difference in the harness inside the steering wheel (the connector there has more wires/pins for the ones that came with the steering wheel audio controls). So it looks like i just need to get a steering wheel with the audio controls (confirm that the pins do the same thing on the cruise control side), and on the stereo side add two pins for pin 11/pin 12 in the metra connector that the factory M45A connector plugs into. But that all assumes that the factory wiring loom after the clockspring has the extra wiring for pin 11/pin 12. Do you know if it does? Thanks.
@rvborgh
@rvborgh 4 жыл бұрын
hmmm... never mind... it seems that the factory harness comes wired for it :) Thankfully when i installed the Dasaita... the harness was still in view... so took a photo of it. Pin 11/Pin 12 are indeed wired on the factory M45A connector. www.hyundai-forums.com/attachments/20200816_114224-jpg.450690/

Hi I have a Hyundia 2011 Santa Fe. The radio is changing channels and jumping on and off on it's own. I see this is a common problem for these cars for a couple of years. I put in a off market radio and the problem still happened. I was told that it is the steering wheel controls that are the problem. Perhaps a short? Turning the steering wheel, going over a bump in the road can cause the radio, phone commands to start on their own. I was told that the radio that comes with the car has controls for the steering wheel that can not be disconnected. They are in a harness that has to stay together. Is this true? It looks very similar to your video of the harness and you seem to know which wires are for the steering wheel. If these wires are a problem can they be replaced or just disconnected without having to purchase a new radio? Thoughts?
@esqu3l3to
@esqu3l3to 4 жыл бұрын
sorry for the late reply but your comment just showed up. You can disable the steering wheel controls by disconnecting both pins that I mentioned in the video (pin 11 and 12). Those are the two wires that are used for the steering wheel controls. They are integrated into one harness as can see in the video, so the only way to disable them is to remove both or pin 11. Try that and let me know. You can cut the wire or just remove the pin from the connector.

2017 Santa Fe seems to have some optical cable and port. Any idea what that’s for ?
@esqu3l3to
@esqu3l3to 4 жыл бұрын
That is likely going to be comnected for audio and or hvac. If its connected to the radio then it it will be connected to an amp that drives your sound system. In this case you would need a wiring kit that interfaces with an aftermarket radio.

Esqu3l3to okay thanks. Asking cos now I’ve lost steering wheel control. The one that controls the volume up, down and to receive or end calls. So I thought maybe that optical cable controlled that. Aftermarket android unit I bought doesn’t have a slot at the back for optical.
@esqu3l3to
@esqu3l3to 4 жыл бұрын
Unless you add an adapter to most aftermarket radios you will lose the steering wheel controls. In this case I did not need one as the android radio is set up, just have to find the wires needed to connect them and make them work. Check your radio, it should have key 1 and key 2. If so you can wire up for the steering wheel controls to work.
