You can hook it straight up if you would like. But it would only take 5 minutes to put a inline fuse in the hot wire. Without a fuse It could burn your wire up. But yes that is all you do. Please like and subscribe! 🇺🇸

J R all you are going to do is cut the hot wire somewhere before the upfitter and splice a fuse block In. Best I can explain is go to google.com and type in inline fuse block then go to images and you will see what it is. If you need anything else. @@COLTSWAY Thanks Colt, I found the upfitter wires under the upfitter fuse box on the passenger side. Since my truck is new, all the wires were folded and totally taped up in a bundle. I cut the black tape to unwind the bundle of upfitter wires and examined the wire with color-code tag to identify which auxiliary switch it corresponds. Each wire has black plastic protective tip. To access the particular wire I wanted to use, I cut the entire black end off in order to get to the copper wire then used a butt connector to splice both wires together. Not difficult. I will admit it was a slight task since it's tucked under and the F250 is so dang high in the air (smie). Thanks again for this video.

If you have the switches up top, it’s already wired.

Sonny Falcon there are fuses for them, you can look in manual and see what ones they are. But I usually put a inline fuse when I install things, I just didn’t wire it up for this video.

Really depends on what it’s running, but mostly just 5 to 10 amp fuses. Unless it was a fuel pump or something I would go a little higher. Michael Stein you can tap into the upfitters but none of them are hot with truck off. Now you can make the last 2 hot all the time buy moving the fuse in the box by the upfitters all the way over. But to be honest what I did and suggest is to just go straight from the battery to the pass threw wires in the passenger side. That’s what I did. I’m going to make a video tonight or Tom about installing my dash cam. But I just went from battery to pass threw wires, that way it’s always hot and I never have to worry about a upfitter. Dustin Burns nothing more then this. Maybe you didn’t have a good ground when you hooked to upfitter? Try leaving it on negative and then hook the power wire to the up fitter. If it still doesn’t come on try flipping all the upfitters on. Maybe you just connected a different one then you thought. Please like and sub! 🇺🇸

Okay cool I will try that. To make sure I have this understood, I don’t have to worry about the pass through wires as those serve if I’m trying to hook up something within the cab? For external items such as lights it’s just wiring to the upfitter wires in the engine area on the drivers side and grounding it, nothing else, right?

Dustin Burns you are right. Don’t mess with pass threw. I have a video about high idle if you watch that it shows what to do with pads threw if you going into the cab. But for your situation you don’t mess with the pass threw.

COLTS A STALLION Follow Up: I tested aux wires 1 and 3 (at random) and no juice. However I tried aux 4 wire and it worked perfect. I bought the truck used it only had 6k miles but the upfitter wires hadn’t been touched.. still zip tied to back of fuse box. Could it be bad fuses? Even though they hadn’t been used?

Would never hurt to fuse off what your wiring up. The upfitter itself is fused but I always put fuses in my stuff. 🇺🇸

It could be powered for sure but the amps the inverter would need would likely burn the little wire. I’d just run big cable to the battery and have a cut off switch by the inverter. 🇺🇸

@@COLTSWAY thanks for the reply, I’m actually trying to install a starlight headliner, I’d be running two kits, both are 16 volt and 16 watts. I’m just trying to figure out the best way to wire them in. I don’t know if I should just run a wire from the upfitters to the kits or if I should use a power inverter. If I run wires straight to the kits from the upfitter what gauge wire would you recommend?

Well you will be limited to the upfitter wire size, which isn’t that big. So if you went bigger then that it would be pointless because it wouldn’t carry the amps if the bigger wire.

Yea, not all of them come with it. Should be standard option. But you can add them. There are a few videos fb of people adding them. 🇺🇸

Dack Glover Dack Glover that’s exactly what I did. I have the raptor lights and hooked them up to aux number 2. Just tap the hot end to the aux you want and connect the other end to a ground. There’s a nut you can back out on the right for the ground, that’s where I hooked up my ground. It’s at 2:07 of this Video you can see where it’s at.

Dack Glover it allows you to control it with the switch only. I wanted it like that so that I could have only the raptor lights on with nothing else. I always have them on unless i turn the switch off.

If it’s on number one, it will only work when the key is on....

COLTS WAY I know, I only use it while the truck is on and I’m driving. It still cycles the power on and off. It used to work fine, then it started cycling on and off, and now it doesn’t turn the dash cam on at all. I can’t figure out how to test the mini USB plug that powers the dash cam.

I would get a phone or some other electronic that uses a a mini usb plug and plug that into it and see if it works. I would check the fuse to make sure it’s not blown. Then go to all your connections and use a volt meter to see if it’s got power in front of and behind the splice.

your pump should have a hot and a ground wire. you need to run those wires to the aux wires under the hood and then you will hook the hot one up to the aux switch you want you use and ground the other one. thats it.

I’ll have to rewatch the video. I don’t remember messing with a brown wire.

Looks like the brown wire is just one of the the wires that goes to an upfitter.

Ok thanks. I bought some little LED's to go behind the logo but dont come with any info except hook to headlight positive and negative. Which I cant seem to see where they come out. So might hook to an aux switch. Thanks for the quick reply and video
