I actually enjoy the car buying process and have actually closed a number of deals for my friends. One of my favorite areas to save money is the "doc fee". I've seen doc fees as high as $795. No way would I pay that nor should anyone else. Never take it personally, it's business deal. I've done more than a few 30-45 deals.

Agree do the research! So much pricing info available online. Go in armed with information ! Disagree about not negotiating at dealership. I want to see and drive the exact car I'm buying. Yes now you are on their turf but no prob if you MAINTAIN CONTROL OF THE DEAL. That is be willing to walk out at anytime. If you give them any hint you gotta have the car they will smell blood, You have given up all your power, and you're toast. Never trade in a car ! Trades are where dealers make a lot of money. Sell your own car. You almost always will do better. Agree get your own financing and just use that. From the time we sit down I give the sales person 1 hour....a little more generous than Mike. haha. After 30 mins I tell them move it along I got places to go. If we haven't cut a deal at the hour mark I walk. Tactic is to keep you there as long as possible and wear you down. Maintain control of the deal ! Lastly remember it's not up to the dealer to give you a great deal. It's up to you to get yourself a great deal. Business owners want to make as much as they can on their product. Can't blame them for that. If you don't like the terms you don't have to buy the car. Say no and walk out.

What do you think about a new car dealer that has a new vehicle coming in that you want and have agreed on the OTD pricing. They said they do not take deposits on the the vehicle but have your name on it. They call you when it it comes in and is ready for pick up. If you have not picked it up in 24 hours, they sell it to the next person on the list or put it out on their lot for sale. I live 4 hours away and may not be able to just jump in my vehicle and go get it right then. I think they should give you more time especially if you are willing to give them a deposit to let them know you are on your way asap, say within 48 hours or 72 hours. I really don't understand their policy on just the 24 hour policy to get there and not willing to take a deposit to get there with a little added time. Your thoughts?

What's a reasonable expectation of discount we can get off MSRP? I'm looking at a 2023 Toyota Tundra and they're at $67k with all their add ons before TTL. He's trying to get the price down to $60,000 reasonable?
@VechniHitove
@VechniHitove 11 ай бұрын
Step one: Research. If you do proper research you will figure out if a vehicle is in high demand or not. An average wait time for a Tundra now is around 3 months. Not terrible but it means that dealers do not have those on the lot. And the demand is there. Which means that most likely you will not be able to get a discount on a car like this. Then you go to the next step- the budget. If you have only 60k to spend and are hoping to get 7k off for a truck that have a wait time a few months you are looking and the wrong truck. You should be looking for something that is in the mid 50’s range so when you add taxes, doc fee, interest etc to end up at 60k.

I just moved into the states a year ago, I don't know how dealers are working in the US but I looked for a small car with stick shift(I hate automatics) and found 9 years old car in one of the biggest dealerships in town - Also imports 4 different car brands. A clean carfax, single owner and the engine felt very good - I didn't negotiate almost at all and closed the deal with 1,000$ above KBB(In this crazy market it is not the worst). Thinking that buying a car from a big highly rated dealership with clean history and warranty will give me good and quite experience, I found out that the dealer just painted over an ugly rust spot that started to bobble out, and when I've entered the car into the first "free" service they want to bill me for 1,500$ of wear and tear of suspension parts that are not covered in the warranty(you can see that the wear is not new, I fixed it outside of the main dealership) - I've learned the hard way what car dealers in the US are and to be much more careful with them.

This advice doesn’t seem to reflect current market. Cars aren’t on the lot….10 people behind you want the same car as dealerships can’t get them in from factory…to get that car quite often you have to put deposit down before it arrives because they are sold before they get there. Love the car buying advice at the end, but, tbh, I think your Chevy bias was showing when you were inferring that Toyota's don't deserve their reputation as one of the most reliable brands. Yes, every vehicle will have issues, but we know that, presuming all regular maintenance is done on a given vehicle, you're more likely to get to 300-400k+ miles on a Toyota than on a Chevy.....and this is coming from a guy who doesn't even own a Toyota (at least not yet)! We own 2 older Fords (2006 and 2012) and a Chevy (2016). Guess which vehicle I have more problems with? Of course, you'll find a high-milage Chevy out there occasionally. However, I'd venture to guess that you'd find more high-milage Toyota's out on the road.

How to work a car deal? Say 12k for this car. If they say no, just walk out. The pain will start for these scum bags.

People say this since dealerships exists. Nothing is changing. Your advice is terrible. Someone will waste their time… the whole video here is to help people to negotiate a good deal and save time. Your advice will waste their time and they will end up with no car.

Thank you for your comment. I appreciate your honesty and feedback. I understand that sometimes it may seem like I take a while to get to the point, but my intention is to provide as much information as possible to help my audience make informed decisions and save money in the long run. I believe that being detailed in my teachings can provide a better chance for my viewers to fully understand the topic and apply it effectively. I will, however, keep your feedback in mind and see if there are ways I can streamline my content without sacrificing its quality. Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts, and I hope you find value in my future videos.

I stopped listening when a Chevy aficionado said he doesn't think Kia or Hyundai is reliable. Chevy is absolute trash!
@VechniHitove
@VechniHitove 11 ай бұрын
Take that- in my state insurance companies raised the premiums for Kia’a and Hyundai’s over 200% because of the Kia boyz…. Now our dealership does not even want to get Kia’s or Hyundai’s because the insurance payments are as twice as the monthly payment for the car and nobody want to buy them. And that is not including the fact that most of them have 2 or 3 engines replaced for the duration of the warranty but after the warranty is over you are on your own. If you see somebody offering 10 years or 100 000 miles warranty on a power train run away. There is a reason for that.

chevy has Nothing to compete with Corolla or Civic. Sonic might be the ugliest car in America. Chevy got rid of the awesome looking Cruze and cruze hatchback. Camaro is a 2 door and stupid expensive. Chevy has nothing to offer anyone look for $25K or less. Not everyone wants an SUV or over priced truck.
