Thank you so much! We actually hadn't planned an ECG lecture - but may be fun to do one on the most common and concerning ECG abnormalities we see in the newborn period. We have a couple more videos coming that we already had planned- and then well be starting the non-invasive series- hopefully starting March :)

Hi Tala and team! I’d love to see a video series on identifying sepsis and common causes in the neonate. I know you’ve mentioned sepsis multiple times throughout videos but I’d love to hear more about evidence based practices for addressing sepsis. Not sure if it’s too broad of a topic or if you have already created a series on this! Thanks!
@TalaTalksNICU
@TalaTalksNICU Жыл бұрын
Hi Sophia! You're absolutely right- it's such a massive topic that we've been nervous to get into it. But we need to cover some basics- it's been long enough! (Actually ridiculous we haven't talked about sepsis yet!!)

@@TalaTalksNICU Hi Tala! As a related topic - I'd love to have a better understanding of antibiotic selection. When there are no culture/sensitivity results yet, how do MDs decide which to prescribe? Another topic that I'd suggest would be liver function tests - ALP, AST, ALT, GGT, albumin, direct bili - what do they mean? Not just the literal function of the marker (i.e. enzyme that converts this AA), but what do high and low levels mean for the baby's status?
@TalaTalksNICU
@TalaTalksNICU Жыл бұрын
These are all excellent suggestions. We should have you as an official consultant! And I love the specificity of the antibiotic one- maybe that’s the bite size we could start with. Similarly with the LFTs! Could talk about labs all day :)

I would love a video explaining the difference between the Jet and the Oscillator- I’m a Level IV RN and my unit uses the Oscillator so I have a good grasp on that but I we don’t use the Jet so I’d like to have an understanding incase I ever go somewhere and need to use it!!

Thanks again for your thorough video. You are so knowledgeable. As I mentioned in your first video my daughter lost her baby at 17 weeks due to this condition. Her blood test showed that she has Parbo virus. Not sure if I pronounced properly. Can this be cured in the mother after delivery. Do you think if she gets pregnant again the baby would get the same illness? Thanks for any response ❤🎉

Hello- I’m so sorry about your grandbaby- how sad and tragic for the whole family. It is so unlucky she got parvovirus while pregnant :( Mother would have cleared this and hopefully have some antibodies against it so would be very unlikely to get again. Wishing you all luck and health and healing xxx

what happens if hydrops baby also had cystic hygroma in neck and amniotic fluit in heart and lungs what should we do??

Hello- I'm not sure what you mean about amniotic fluid within heart/ lungs. With hydrops- infants end up with fluid around heart and lungs. They need to be delivered if it comes to this. Good luck
