That is one menacing looking handlebar. Received my B&W DEDA tapes from CRC and will be doing this to my Trek cyclocross:)

A video about Bar tape, without a bicycle's worth of "specialized branded tools" and a lazer cut, gel comfy, 199$ shampagnolo bar tape. And Oh dear, that Washing detergent isn't Shimano branded? :) Awesome video as usual man... you have to spread this channel a little more.

Let me stress the importance of using tape that has no sticky substance on the back. This will make it a whole lot easier for u.

Nice job. But.......since you and I mostly ride on the tops I'd rather have the wrap in the opposite direction so it tends to stay tight. If that means the drops are wrapped so the tape tends to loosen it's less of a problem cos I / we ride mostly on the tops. With a single tape roll I achieve both by reversing rotation at the lever.

What about wrapping the handlebar tape from top toward bottom / bar plug end? this keeps the exposed tape edges from unraveling from hands pushing against it.

+Seph Snake Double wrapping makes the taping slightly thicker....more comfy too.

I don't think it will be as thick as a double wrap (which I prefer). I imagine this method is somewhere between single and double wrap.

So if some extra thickness is desired, put some cut inertube rubber in the 'chosen' spots (where the palms put pressure) is my humpble opinion.

Hey OZ does this mean I would have to use 4 bar tapes as oppose to just two ? Or if you overlap two on one is there spare enough to do the other side ? So still using just a pair of tapes ?

2 bar tape packets. There will be left over but only for a tennis racket handle 😂

Is there a way to make the new bar tape FATTER in the drops? I like a hand filling grip.. I used to use pieces of old tape. Is this a valid method?

You can buy gel inserts or just wind an extra layer of tape under the final

No, no...there's "cheaper" tape. The kind you find is TOO-short as one is trying to finish! Ugh! Seems double-wrapping would allow the tape cover further, no? Yeah, the mask-mandate makes me look...better, too, when wearing one :-)
