For those who want to try and smooth out your own lines: the trick is to lock your wrist and fingers, then use a combination of elbow and shoulder movement. Smaller joint (wrist, fingers) = finite control (good for details, bad for smoothness)= jittery lines. You can certainly get smoother lines with practice as well, but this method will make an immediate immediate improvement and subsequent practice will have a more pronounced effect.

Letters and numbers are so beautiful. There's something so lovely about the letter J, R, S and V. I can't tell you how many times I've practiced writing those letters and giving them the extra flair they deserve.

I'm a native English speaker, American, and even I find this so therapeutic. I'm learning Japanese and like watching kanji videos, and love the artistry of kanji brush stroke writing, but I forgot how attractive neatly written cursive can look. I wonder if Japanese and Chinese, etc, people find this as entertaining as English speakers find kanji???

For handlettering, it is cool. For cursive writing, some of the forms aren't right. The ability to perfectly place the black lines is amazing and I love how it makes it look 3D with trying.

Which of them are wrong? I didn't get it as I usually write cursive mixed with normal form.

@@midnightplum8255 Some are wrong because they aren't tall enough, like 'b', should be same height as 'd' but is smaller. 'j' is not done like that, I have no idea what letter that is. 'k' should have a loop for small arm ( don't know how to describe). 'm' and 'n' are written as non-cursive, 'p' should have loop touch straight part. 'r' shouldn't have a loop. the 's' is an uppercase, not a lowercase. and finally, the 't' should not have open loop for upright, but a single up/down line. This is being nitpicky a bit, but if you put these together into a word, it would be fairly illegible because of the inconsistencies and wouldn't look uniform.

You can tell he’s accustomed to writing Japanese. The perfect shape and proportion of the curves in these letters is very reminiscent of beautifully written hiragana.

この文字は筆記体と言って、繋げて書きやすいように普通の書き方とは違う形なんですよ。 楷書と行書のようなものです😌

@@user-ff9sq2kx3u 知ってますよ。 ですから、私が習った筆記体とは違うと言ってるんですよ。 aからzまで、すべて一筆書きで書く(ｉjの点とtの横線xの斜め線は後から書く)練習を中学生の時に凄くしたので、基本的に次の文字に自然に繋げられない書き方はしないのが筆記体です。 筆記体にも様々な種類があるのかは知らないですけどね。
