Finally, I found the tutorial video that gives the definitions of presice, clear and comprehensive explination on how to write a introduction of research. The video is easier to understand, and I am very glad that I found this, because the last tutorials that I watched are difficult to understand because of the strong accents. Thank you and I wish you upload more knowledgeable videos for us individuals who are struggling on making research.

No worries, June. First of all, you need to think first about the type of research you are conducting. If you are doing a qualitative research, then you don't need to talk about independent and dependent variables. These concepts are loosely defined in qualitative research. So, you only talk about independent and dependent variables in quantitative research. Now, if you are doing quantitative research, you may or may not talk about the independent and dependent variables in the background of study. So, that depends on your study.

No worries, Spencer. If you continue writing your thesis (thesis proposal), you will definitely write the Statement of the Problem, and when you do, you just need to break the goal of your research into pieces. And depending on the research tradition, you may specify in the background of the study the objectives, but again, they are just a breakdown of the "main goal" of the study. Is it different from Theoretical Background po?

Yes. Please note that a "Theoretical Background" is almost synonymous with "Literature Review". In fact, some format uses the term "Theoretical Background" instead of "Literature Review". For this reason, a "Theoretical Background" is not the same with a "Theoretical Framework". And, as we can see, the "Background of the Study" is not the same with the "Theoretical Background". Please note that in most cases, the ""Background of the Study" is the same with what we call "Rationale of the Study" or "Introduction". I hope this helps, YG Stan.
