Tips for Vow writing: I have all of my messages that I sent to him on his birthday, Valentine’s Day or anniversary on my phone notes to use some sentences for this future reference. As I see other wedding videos and hear other vows if I like something they said and I feel like I relate I write it down in a notebook I have. As of now I have a list of sentences which I will put together and add some more for the special day. Also my fiancé and I have discussed on wanting to do our own vows but maybe sharing somethings with certain extended family or church people wasn’t intimate so we decided to do our very intimate vows during the first look and the traditional “I do’s” for the ceremony and possibly with a small note vow just to have some words that are still loving, meaningful and we wouldn’t care of certain people heard them.

Getting married in a week and a half and I just landed at the procrastination station ! This is probably the most helpful video I’ve seen and I’ve probably went through about 12 videos on how to write vowels. I love the template idea. This video made managing my ideas and what I wanted to say so much more organized. Thank you!

Well this video was Long-awaited and much-needed.. in the past months so much has changed and now with 18 days before my wedding we Have had to cancel the Caterer and the cake and the reception and cut the guest list and downsized to just an intimate ceremony. we are in Arizona, My fiancé’s daughters are stuck on the East Coast, my dad and step mom are stuck in Iowa and it’s been a mess but we are persevering and just ready to get married and spend the rest of our lives together. In 18 days we will vow to love and honor through good times and bad and persevering through this coronavirus apocalypse is a testament that we can.

This is the video I’ve been waiting for! Granted I now have another year to write them due to the mess that’s going on with covid 19..... but still finally some guidance ahaha

How have I missed this video? I have watched just about all of them and then this one pops up! 🤗🤗

I was so proud of my idea to get pretty blank cards and I printed out my vows & taped them inside mine, hubby wrote his in his card... gave them to the JP and never saw them again until I asked for them back 2 days later. We went back to the beach where we had our wedding and said our vows to each other on the last day of our honeymoon.

Also a small, simple, silly suggestion: if you are writing something, like a wedding vow, that will have to be read or recited aloud, try to work the phrasing to avoid the letter S (and other harsh sounds to a lesser degree, but if you go back and read this aloud, you may find that from the words "small, simple, silly suggestion", you hated me).

Take them on a journey of why you fell in love and why you will stay in love or at the least into the foreseen future. Vows shouldn’t be a copy and pasted thing. It should be the journey you did and are on with each other with promises to not allow the things they fell in love with you to disappear

So, my wedding is on May 15th, and we don't know what's gonna happen yet, we're trying to continue getting things ready as much as normal, but we're starting to dab in the hypothetical as far the postponement of it all. Due to the longgevitiy of our long distance relationship come hell or high water we still want to get married, but we're also kind of wondering if people will still come to the big (planned for 280 people) shin dig we've got planned if we elope and then do a big ceremony and reception for everyone later on. If you have to be on the same page your doing it to please the crowd and it’s not about you and your spouse. At that point it’s to look like you both know each other versus just how you perceive the life you’ve lived and see moving forward. Vows are for your partner not the crowd, screw the crowd if they don’t understand it. 🤷‍♂️

I love your advice but I have to respectfully disagree on one point and that's the inside jokes. If you are a couple that loves inside jokes you should do them and give zero explanation or backstory because that moment isnt for the crowd its for your spouse. As long as they understand that's all that matters and if people don't like it they need to stop being selfish and let you have YOUR moment. During the toast I agree not to many jokes because that's for everyone,but the vows are the couples one moment just for them and they should do it however they want. Just my 2 cents,love your channel!
