What I'm wondering is how they just don't get sick of the shows they're doing. Like, singing the same song, day in, day out, for their entire run plus rehearsals and previews.

Jackson DeStefano well, if they're doing something they love, they should never get tired of it!!! If being on Broadway is your dream, you can never get tired doing it.

poliknoy Well, being on Broadway may be your dream, but you don't get to choose what shows you're in, and you may end up in a shit one.

Jackson DeStefano that's not necessarily true. A good rule of thumb for actors is to not accept a role you don't like. Wait till you find the that is best for you and that you will love. Otherwise, you're less likely to put 100% into it because you don't connect. Of course at a hs or college level you don't have much choice but if you're out, you shouldn't be doing something you don't love.

Jackson DeStefano Broadway is very much a dreamer's paradise because it all comes down to passion. In Hollywood new actors tend to say yes to every role because they are hoping for their big break and can't afford to be picky. A Broadway play goes through so many phases (doing writing, staging, rehearsing etc. *for years* before a play even sees the stage) and is only sustained by the crew's passion for the project - when you listen to a lot of interviews with the "non-stars" (choir/backup-vocal, dancers etc. - essentially the very backbone of the onstage production) they all agree on one thing: that it is a honour and pleasure to get to perform such a play every day. It's not about star-power and looking for your "big break". It's about singing and being a part of amazing shows e.g. The new ones (Hamilton, Dear Evan Hansen) and the classics (Phantom of the Opera, Cats)... The latter often holding sentimental value since a lot of performers grew up listening to those very cast recordings.

Jackson DeStefano I've heard people say that they find something new everyday with the show and the audience being different always spices things up
