I agree with a lot of what’s said in this video. In my view I think Mojang should go even further, maybe have it so there’s only 1 totem available in the world at one time. If it gets destroyed/used the drop becomes available again, but until then no matter how many evokers you kill it won’t drop if one already exists. This would make having the only totem a huge advantage on multiplayer and make the price for selling them immense similar to the dragon egg but actually with a function, prevent farming and totem spamming. Maybe this could link up with other ideas I’ve seen in this comment section in a hardcore + or extra game mode. I’m sort of hesitant about that idea myself though, because then we could end up with many different versions of hardcore and the word loses even more meaning that it already has as you guys pointed out. Regardless I think any change in this area is gonna be extremely controversial among both players and mojang staff so I can see why they’ve focused on other stuff. If you wanted to cover an even more controversial topic, maybe you could talk about how overpowered Elytras are, especially in PvP settings but also in just making the game as a whole super easy. Maybe they should be more expensive? Maybe they can’t have mending put on them? But that’s just my view, feel free to disagree.

Two things, firstly the editing on this is really good. Its not too much where I can actually track whats going on and it helps understand what your actually saying. Secondly, I've watched crazy craft 2.0 like 15 times so hearing your voices randomly from a recommended video was so cool.

i say remove totems as they are currently and add one totem for each type of damage, that way your never truly safe from everything.

This is such a cool idea for a channel! I quit being involved in the Minecraft community around 2017/2018 and I feel so behind now because of all the new stuff that's been added. This really helps me learn just what all is out there and what I can do with it.

Very good video ash and squid! I love the editing and narration style! I think the best way to combat the totem situation would be to have it so that evokers still spawn in raids but don't drop the totem and instead drop something of slightly less value but still worth it, so that only evokers in woodland mansions drop totems. that along with the totem cooldown you sugested would be a good way to nerf them and bring back the high risk/reward

The editing in this video is amazing. My only note would to use a little fewer of the “whoosh” sound effects cause even though they make the transitions looks better, in my experience, they can get a bit distracting to the viewer if used in excess. Excited to see where this channel goes in the future, I’ve been watching you guys since Minecraft adventure maps, gta racing, Skyrim, and octodad, and it’s inspiring to see you guys continue to grow and work hard over the years, keep it up guys!

I'm a little confused. If totems and totem farms are really removing the difficulty of hardcore mode, why can't players who want a challenge... not use them? If Pokemon players can self-impose limitations on themselves to make a nuzlock run, why can't Minecraft players self-impose limitations on themselves to make a totemless hardcore run?

Super easy fix to do, which I talk about in my own video, it require the totem to be “used” like how you need to bring up a shield for it to block damage otherwise it doesn’t do anything. The totem will no longer just save you but you must incorporate it into your gameplay for it to function. It’s keeps the renewability since just removing evokers from raids means hardcore will still just hold totems all the time anyway, normal survival might not use them as they will save them for when they really need it and multiplayer.. I think you can work that out. In addition to this, I would make it difficulty dependant so that on easy it functions as it does now and in hard is when you need to use it. Lastly I would like a reason to go to mansions again, and I think the illusioner could be the perfect mob to help do that.

The totem cooldown was actually exactly what I was thinking (and quite easy to implement) - but I think the easiest method is just making it so that during raids, the evoker uses its totem of dying to prevent death sometimes and becomes extremely difficult to kill or something.

Well I mean, they could make Evokers no longer drop Totems, but instead a new "vault" is now found in Mansions where an Evoker(maybe an Illusioner also) can drop "Illager Keys". This would expand the Ideas of Vaults throughout the game. Farming Keys will require beating a Raid or conquering a Mansion where said specific Illager drops the keys to where you can open Vaults to get totems, this make them farmable but in a more tedious and rewarding manner

honestly if there was some sorta map after a raid drop to a mansion would probably balance and still make it a worthwhile adventure and risk as well, and could even be expanded upon through alternative ideas honestly.

Have an idea have the Evoker drop a totally new different item with no used to it. And have the player trade that item with wandering traders for a totem of undying. So In theory their are infinite totems, but you have a limited amount per trade. So that way the wandering traders have more of a use and so they’re not as easy to farm. 😊

I think a long cooldown on the totem of undying would do, an unremovable effect that lasts X amount of time and will not let you hold a totem of undying/the totem of undying changes appearance when in your hands clearly indicating that it is unpowered/will not work. Sure it could be circumvented by just hiding in your house all day, or a dirt box- but still- a cooldown is justified imo.

I feel that totems should not have 100% drop rate from raid Evokers but they should from mansion Evokers, this would promote venturing off to woodland mansions and also preserve the difficulty of raids

Honestly I don't think totems "completely remove death" or "make hardcore obsolete" I still see a lot of hardcore deaths even with totems. People failing to equip a new one, the damage just overriding it, even in the first clip you see him die even with the totem help.

I play a lot of hardcore and generallly don't use totems very much. As much as it hurts, I'd rather lose a world than spend every moment in iy knowing I should have died hundreds of hours ago.

Alright, here me out. What if we just replaced the Evoker in raids with the Illusioner? And gave him a similarly rewarding but not as game breaking style drop.

With what you said at the end where you need to drink the potion. Doesn’t that mean raiding farms wouldn’t be worth making cause how are you supposed to know where the raid will spawn after you drink the potion. You’d build the farm to probably find out the raid spawned somewhere different.

I personally think totems are fine as Minecraft is a sandbox game so if players want to make op raid farms then i say let them as it is their hardcore world after all. Just my opinion though

As much as i like the concept of this video, the constant fancy transitions and sound effects are way too distracting. I think their purpose was to make the video more engaging but in my opinion it rather makes it more overwhelming to try and keep up with. Perhaps that's just me being boring and not particularly liking or being able to watch the sort of fast paced snappy videos that are popular rn without getting a bit panicked, though. I really don't want to put down the hard work Ash has done editing this, but surely there has to be more accessible and viewer-friendly ways to have fun editing? If not i understand and will of course not bother you fellas anymore.
