The patch they made Thursday has broken the game. Its added the Glow Stick Glitch and made bodies not despawn at all till reset.

5:12 How tf did they not learn this when they removed the collision for downed cows? 😨 That players could hide inside of them. My guess is that the programmers who learned it then are no longer working there, and the new ones REPEAT the same, damn, mistakes. Over. And Over. And Over again.

Trees can fall trough buildings and other objects. If they had a hitbox you could get stuck in a house or something until the server reset resets the tree

@@PancakeNL That's not a very good excuse. 🤨 The falling path can be calculated immediately after the last axe swing animation is finished, to find a "suitable" fall direction. And then have it NOT fall inside a building or a house! 😠 I mean, that shouldn't even happen in the first place!

I see they also nerfed gun slapping to where it's not really viable anymore to win a cqb. Players slapped can now immediately go to shooting again ending the fight in a shooting trade. I feel all BI does is nerf metas that Chads use to win, attempting to "balance" fighting, but all they're doing is removing any skill level shitty players have to aspire to. It's basically gaming socialism, punish the rich (ie good players) and give to the poor (shitty players).

The worst part is that hiding crates in trees is broken, and if you bury anything close to a tree, you won't get the dig up option unless you cut the thing down.

I just go to center of the tree and drop it till it looks right. It's worse with barrels can't hide them in trees at all they just wanna float on a tree branch

Cut down a tree and put a barrel there open you can access it when it grows back without chopping it saw the biggest stash ever at the gas ship on official doing that when we went but they had 8 on top each other and I could see the top sticking out the side of the tree but I’ve been doing that now and ain’t had one found yet but get it dead center so it don’t peak threw the tree

Crazy glitch for y’all to try. Hold a glow stick, sprint into walls or gates and crouch before you hit it, and you will phase through.

So much facepalm when it comes to Dayz ballistics. Yes yes light leafy bushes and branches surely have the fortitude to deflect 545x39 and similar caliber bullets moving at 2900+ feet per second carrying 1000 foot pounds of energy. Amazing work Bohemia, Nikita over at Battlestate Games would be proud 👍

@@tunarulesatca And Vets in Korea were saying that .30 carbine was bouncing off the enemies down coats. Which is complete nonsense. Its really hard to hit a target and soldiers have historically came up with tall tales to explain why they didn't.

Branches most definitely will deflect small diameter rounds like 243, 5.56, 5.45 with ease.

The downed tree zero hitbox thing is a bit of a bummer... i always loved seeing bases in a forest surrounded by tree's both inside and out. So easy to chop a tree down and walk right over a wall using the tree as a ramp. Both in and out, lol. For the best though. Always felt ratty 😅

This is all good but the update has made console close to unplayable. Dead bodies are not respawning whatsoever until restart, causing performance problems and people are using glowsticks to phase thru buildings unfortunately. Our server had to switch from 3 hour restarts to 1 hour, and remove items related to the phasing glitch

I see other comments about this, but I’ll put in my two cents. This did make stashes that I had buried unobtainable, but I just cut down the trees and reburied them elsewhere and it was fine, so I actually don’t care about that too much. I think I’ve already survived 2 gunfights because of the ballistic changes in the woods, but I can’t say for sure.

Coming from Gen 1 PS4 dayz to now on PC. I do feel bad for console ppl. They've been waiting so long for better updates. Which these past 2 years were great for them. But give them at the very least a mf code lock 🤣

They may have improved server performance, but explaining these things seems just as confusing as before. A lot of these mechanics seem entirely unneeded or just baffling. How about we just stop foliage from affecting bullet damage entirely? Why should i have to worry about fucking deflections and where my shot placements into bushes andt trees go?

The branches themselves (+ leaves obviously) should have no hitbox, only the trunk of the tree.

Devs need to just stop. Some of these attempts at realism are just so failed... There are countless videos of rifle rounds punching through a half dozen pieces of treated lumber. Tree branches may deflect smaller calibers but, it would also create shrapnel that could cause blindness and bleeds

Trees shouldnt reduce damage, its stupid. Only the Log of the tree should do anything and it should only be bullet proof to small calibres like 45, 9 and 357.

Dumbest change imo. I liked sitting in trees and it’s not unrealistic. Sure don’t allow people to sit on leaves, but branches…but most trees don’t allow even that now.
