Alvin Bragg got it wrong by bringing the case. Merchan helped Bragg by doing things such as denying Trump a witness and change of venue. Bragg's case was about charging Trump with wrongdoing over something legal. An NDA is not illegal as is covering it up.

@@FestusParker-sm9gg Ok I'm going to go through some of your misconceptions one by one. Firsly the defense can call witnesses so if Todd Blanche didnt call someone Trump wanted thats on him. Its not upto the prosecution to call witnesses that would help the defense. The reason Blanche didnt call further witnesses or even let Trump testify was because they would be smoked on cross-examination which is what happened to Robert Costello. The venue wasnt changed because you are tried where the crime occurs. Finally Bragg got nothing wrong, it will be viewed as a stunning success given the problems that have plagued all the other cases delays etc. Finally an NDA is not illegal but paying off people in order to win an election is.

He has every ground to appeal this sham conviction. First of all, nobody in NY had ever been charged with a felony for falsifying business records let alone 34 felonies. This was always a misdemeanor and they twisted and changed the law just for him. This case was already looked at by the Justice Dept in 2018 which said there was no case here and then Cyrus Vance the former NY DA said the same thing when the case went to NY. They compounded the same charge 34 times.

Not exactly accurate- 1- had to agree to the crime of falsifying documents 2- ALSO had to agree to the secondary crime of election interference through criminal conduct 3- it’s the underlying criminal conduct that they didnt all have to agree on. But they were given the first 2 parts (fraudulent documents, illegal election interference through criminal conduct) as the ONLY options and they had to be unanimous in their finding of guilt for BOTH. The methods and means to criminally interfere in the election had 3 options because he broke 3 different laws in his attempts to illegally interfere. Basically- they don’t all have to agree on whether he took a car, a bus, or the subway to the house where he committed a murder.

Then trump paid Cohen $420k and said it was for legal expenses. There were no legal expenses and Trump has already verified it to be repayment of the hush money payments. He illegally grossed up the amount to cover income tax. Maybe learn the details about the trial before forming opinions.

Not a legal expert, but what I thought I understood when I saw a lawyer talking about it is that Trump wasn’t charged with an underlying crime in this case, that’s why it doesn’t have to be unanimous on the underlying crime. ANY underlying crime justifies the raising of misdemeanor charges to felonies.

Cenk , take care of your health bro , you need to lose at least 20 pounds pronto ...being so heavy at an old age is a no-no. My dad worked out until he couldn't any more , he lived until he was 96yo ...exercise , even a few minutes a day at an old age is a must if you want to stay healthy

He classified those things wrong intentionally because legal expenses are tax deductible but reimbursements generally (depending on what EXACTLY they are for) are not. He should've taken that money as salary, bonus or draw and been taxed according to income tax law. But he didn't he chose to lie. As usual. BTW, you, I or anyone not a rich, white man would have sat in jail waiting for your trial and been remanded into custody immediately upon the guilty verdict.

He really doesn't have a case for appeal, your lack of understanding how underlying crimes is flawed, as well they can't take it to the Supreme Court, because it's a state run case and you would need some statute in the supremacy clause in order to make it a federal case, which there is none.

Wrong. Originally a federal case that saw the statute of limitations run out on it in 2019. Then the Democrats decided to revive it and change the charge from misdemeanor to felony. Lot of things wrong with this case.

I don't think the statutes in election violations are relevant. Only that they exist at all that are relevant. Just because someone had the chance to evade the law for long enough to escape prosecution doesn't then automatically deem their acts as lawful.

I am not a fan of TYT. When I click a TYT video I expect the worst and am seldom disappointed. However, credit to both Cenk and Anna for both putting aside their personal disgust toward Trump and having a mature discussion about the merits of the case and whether it will survive appeal. And also asking the question what kind of precedent it will set for people that aren't named Trump. Again credit to both of them.

The stature of limitations does not apply to the underlying crime of campain finance violations because he's not charged with that. It is just recognized as having been the motivating factor to the falsification of business records elevating it to a felony
