alyssa paige yes, everywhere I go I encounter the most wonderful and polite individuals who are more than willing to lend a helping hand, or eye😉… And just like you saw in the video, so many people all the time ask me these really great questions. I just love educating and bringing awareness about blindness, always pulling down stereotypes and changing peoples misconceptions towards disability. 💛💛

Im fascinated by how people who are hard of seeing or hearing or anything else adapts to a very much seeing and hearing world and its just amazing.
@JoyRoss4 жыл бұрын
Yes, Linda was so sweet! And I don’t mind the questions when they are being asked in a very sincere way. Obviously I love educating, that is why I created my KZfaq channel. Bringing awareness to blindness and living with a disability to others may seem depressing, but I want to show the world that even though I face great challenges daily, life can still be beautiful. Blessing :-)

It always surprises me how people don't seem to notice that someone is standing around looking a little lost and has a guide dog with them... and they don't even attempt to come over and help. And when Joy says excuse me or asks for help they seem like they don't even want to help, almost a bit dimissive and don't respond that well, and seem to hesitate when it's really really obvious that this person seems a bit lost and also has a guide dog - so that's a huge cue that they might need assistance. Too many people are so self-absorbed.

They weren’t rude they were busy helping people in line. It would have been rude to the customer they were helping to drop everything and help someone else. Even if they are blind. They did what they needed to they called someone over to help.

Racquel Kylander thank you, you’re so sweet! I think it is pretty amazing how my parents named me Joy, and throughout the years, especially after losing my complete eyesight in 2008, I have truly found Joy, the most beautiful joy in the whole world! You see, joy isn’t something you feel only when things are going good,I always say Joy is a choice! I had to choose it every day after I lost my eyesight, and sometimes I still do, but I understand the meaning of joy more than ever before. Joy is an attitude of the heart. 💛 God bless you

This video brought me to tears because about 10yrs ago I worked at the clothing store New York & Co here in Chicago and had a customer who was blind who I helped shop every time she would come in. She became my regular customer because the first time she came in to shop I helped her to pick out an outfit for work. She had such a great outcome from her coworkers complementing her on dressing up in a skirt for the first time as well as wearing a bright color for the first time (the outfit was a coral pink blouse with a knot accent and a plain black pencil skirt). I still remember that day like it was yesterday because she was more than my customer, she was like a friend who I would go shopping with giving her my fully honest opinion. And the reason this video made me tear up is because you ladies shopping showed me what it was like for her on the other end. My customer Britney was like your friend, she could only see shades of color but up close....yet I didn't ever think it could be somewhat of a challenge shopping since she had her guide dog with her. Now 10 years later and having a service dog of my own (he's for medical alert and assistance) plus this video gave me a better insight on how much I actually helped her out, and I thank you Joy for that! So glad I found your channel today and you definitely gained another subscriber right here...take care! - Vanessa
