Bearpaw has a unique model of similar boot where whole merino wool is a liner with a removable insole. I do not think Bearpaw uses Sheepskin for outer leather in order to have a more durable boot. During peak fashion for Bearpaw boots, trend in my area I would see people wearing them without any liners and let foot slide around in shoe.

I grew up in Sydney in the 70s. We just called them all uggboots. We knew there were many manufacturers, and you had to pick and choose to get good ones. Paddy’s market and town markets typically had poor quality ones from random sellers. I remember the best ones I tried were from a shoe store up near Manly. Beach suburbs and rural stores were the best places to buy quality uggboots. Also…. The sheepskin car seat covers in Australia were outstanding. Kept the seat warm in winter and cool in the summer heat. Game changer her in Aussie summers.

The Australian footwear industry has been decimated by cheap imports. When you have someone like the Deckers buy up other brands, cheapen them and then try and kill off the true heritage, it is surprising any ugg style boots are still made in Australia. Most of the manufacturers are cottage style, family companies living on a shoestring. They are not big corporates. Please support the genuine product and not the thief.

What heritage? Ugg didn't have heritage. It was cheap working boots. That's why it was a generic word to begin with. Deckers made the Ugg into a fashion item and a recognizable item around the world. Outside of Australia, Deckers Uggs are what people think of when they hear the word, Ugg. Celebrities didn't wear Australian Ugg, and Australian Ugg wasn't what people wanted to buy.

I have Ugg slippers, when they arrived they said made in China, I assumed they would be from Australia and never knew there was a US company, I couldn't return them and after looking closely, the shearing is not real, clearly man made that smells like plastic when burned, the glued in insole fell apart quickly and when I saw it's really thin on top of a really thin rubber bottom, I got the $30 Ugg premium insoles to replace and they too aren't real shearing and not at all $30 comfortable, All in all the US/China Uggs are overpriced garbage, When I have extra money I will be getting a real pair directly from Australia. Aussies and Kiwis love their wool slippers. In fact there is a version called a moccasin which is sold everywhere, especially in the countryside to this day. If you ask an Australian what a moccasin is, it is a cheap, sub ankle length woolen slipper with enormous toe box stitching usually with a turn down at the top giving a fluffy 'cuff'. The original ugg was pretty much exactly the same, and from the same time and thought process. To tell an American they can own the name moccasin is exactly how crazy this concept is to Australians. The Australian moccasin is not fashionable and generally worn by very low income earners so perhaps the reason we don't see corporations coming after them.

IMO, true "Ugg's" are Australian made with Australian product... yet I'll still wear (on a rare occasion) the aftermarket Costco sheepskins I bought years ago.

my friend had UGGs in the 2000s. WE called hers Ch-uggs. Because they were made in china. Actually lasted quite well. More than the mainstream american UGGs.

The boots look like a bad idea. look like boots version of wool loafers. like shown at 15:08. They seem to be loose, no adjustment. it makes zero sens, looks like they would be unstable and horrible to walk in. But they look warm. W
