A bit of bad luck played a part, but organization in defense is much more important. If the defense is not well-structured, nothing else will function properly. Croatia has excellent defensive players, but none of them stands out as a commander. There's a reason why Pepe is in Portugal's starting eleven; experience is very important. Someone needs to take on the role of Lovren, and if Vida had played against Italy, we would be having a different conversation today.

I think there is genuinely some selection that happens in the backend to favour teams like England. How do they ALWAYS have an “easier” group and road to the final? They even had their final against Italy at Wembley and couldn’t finish the job🤣 baš mi je drago.
