How US' Staggering $34 Trillion Debt Can Trigger a Global Rebellion | Vantage with Palki Sharma
The United States' mounting national debt threatens to upheaval the global market. JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon has said that Washington's current debt level stands at $34.14 trillion, which equates to roughly $100.000 per US citizen. This, according to Dimon, is driving the economy towards a 'cliff'. Palki Sharma explains how this debt could trigger a crisis that might impact the world.

Invest judiciously, keep a stop loss figure. Shuffle between debt and equity wherever the ratio goes too off your target. As for the target, I recommend a Ratio like this Debt % should be equal to your age in years. If you are 20, debt is 20%, reset in equity. If the market falls or rises drastically, your debt % will change, which you should rebalance to 20% and bring back equity to 80%. Thus you would have bought low or booked profit depending on if it was a crash or a bull run.

Effective personal finance management is more important than the amount of money saved, regardless of whether income is earned through job or investment. Individuals can seek counsel from a certified financial advisor to optimize financial outcomes, who can provide specialized advice and methods to decrease expenses and maximize income.

Indians spent all their time BS about China's Debt Trap. They built roads, ports, trains, power plants and factories around the world. That costs money and needs loans. Those are "good debt" that are the basis for the nations economic development and social uplifting. Those are NOT "speculative debts" that you borrow to gamble your life away. There are 130 nations in this planet got involved with BRI. Over 5000 projects at work. Many have been successfully completed and in operation. Yet all you BS about is Sri Lanka port. So, Indians, if you have common sense, you will know the difference between the Chinese Infrastructure Debts and USA Speculation Debts. They are totally different things. I really think you know. But you still trash talk about China. The problem with trash talking about China is that you eventually actually BELIEVE your own BS and won't make the right decision. So, trash talk has serious real consequences.

120% actually isn't that high. Japans has been around 250% for quite some time and its really had marginal impact on the economy. While Canada is listed as being quite high, which is true, there is a big difference in that much of the debt is actually held by canadians through pension funds, so its not like thiere is huge risk of bankruptcy. Not that its GOOD, but its not as 'economy ending' as some would think.

America has been able to service high debt since The Second World War for two reasons: - Until the 1970s the USA had the highest level of manufacturing globally. It could simply produce enough sought-after goods for the rest of the world. - After the 1970s the USA dropped off a metallic standard and essentially used an 'oil standard' for its currency, forcing everyone to buy oil in US dollars. This is the 'petrodollar' you may have heard about. Unfortunately during the second phase the USA had essentially 'free money': it couldn't go broke. So in a scenario of insane short-sightedness it offshored nearly all its industry (except arms manufacture) as they thought this second phase would go on forever. It won't, however, go on forever. The USA's heavy-handed behaviour in seizing sovereign assets has encouraged non-vassal nations to de-dollarise and not trade in US dollars. In essence they've stopped paying a trading tax to the USA and the USA's GDP is a house of cards based on financial instruments and not actual production. If the de-dollarisation continues the USA's economy will collapse which will make the dissolution of the USSR look like a short term slump. And this is the root cause of the USA's latest round of wars.

You gotta love the tragic irony of the largest military in human history, funded to the tune of over a trillion American taxpayer dollars a year (when you count the whole 'black budget' it's likely even more), surrounding all 192 other nations with its military bases, losing a major sea blockade to a citizen militia from the second poorest country in the world that has no ships or navy. That's on top of the fact the U.S. has lost every military action it's been in since its genocide in Cuba and the Philippines (dubbed "the Spanish-American war") which was in the 1800s. Isn't it awesome to know your tax dollars have been put to such amazing use instead of paying for anything that benefits you like healthcare or secondary education? I sure think it's awesome. It just makes me so happy to know that the great USA is "protecting my freedom and democracy" over there in Yemen. I have no idea how it got all the way over there when I'm all the way over here... but I'm sure the CIA does (not that they'll tell me). But if you read comment threads on the KZfaq clips from the corporate media channels like CNN, Fox, and MSNBC, they're full of ignoramuses actually buying into this B.S. that "the Houthi rebels 'attacked' U.S. troops and now we need to start a war with Iran." It's irreedeemable to still be THAT stupid when the prevalence of independent media and credible information is literally all over the internet and all you have to do is go and read it. How are we ever supposed to expect that the U.S. will get any better when we're still surrounded by fellow citizens with a political and economic IQ of minus 450??? We're so screwed.

What are the Effects of the So-Called USA $34 Trillion Dollar Debt? 1. Are they really debts, or just unpaid cheques? The supplier of fiat currency can create endless amount of money, as long as they can find solutions to inflation (i.e., too much money chasing few goods). The bulk of USA money supply is given to military technology firms and financial sectors, who use the money to buy up assets and products from around the world. So, US debts just means exported inflation. 2. When America talks about debt, they also talk about needing a stronger military ($1 Trillion a year in defense spending). You ask: what has debt got to do with the military? The answer is that the debt in question is the power to create monetary value on other people’s products - giving the creator the power to take other people’s products while giving them worthless paper in return. Since people will refuse this exchange, you need the military to compel them to accept it or face extermination. 3. The logic of USA government debt is that the entire world actually pays for it with their products (natural resources; tariffs and freight insurance cost, transfer of their resources to Western multinationals; inflated cost of obtaining USA Dollar for foreign reserves transactions following higher interest rates on the Dollar) In effect, it is a mafia debt - borrowing money from the mafia. This is the Classic Pirates Paradise! Hegemonic Ponzi Scheme! 4. There is no such thing as USA paying on its debts. They can easily adjust the value of these debts, and drastically reduce the amount payable by :1) increasing the interest rates on the Dollar; 2) sanctioning several countries, and effectively wiping away their entire entitlements for the value of products they supply on the promise of these USA debts; 3) creating conflicts within these nations to force them to buy USA military equipment and services in exchange for payments on their products; sabotaging their economies, and offering them a mafia solution - “transfer your natural resources to our corporations, in exchange for economic relief’)

It's unfortunate that most Americans don't understand this or perhaps they are purposely kept ignorant. Most people can't even do math. How can an economy be 70% consumption based. It's impossible. In a normal society you can only consume what you produce. Americans consumes more than twice what they produce. It's an impossibility unless you take into account Americans steal from the rest of the world to make up for that 40% gap between consumption and production. The American economy is 28trillion 40% is 11 trillion dollars. That means every year America forces upon the world to give 11 trillions dollars worth of tribute to itself. Based on these numbers is it any wonder that America will spend 1 trillion dollars per year on its military. It literally gives a return on investment of 1000%

We haven’t designed the economy correctly we sell fast food on every block and our people are getting sick. The only way to help our debt issues is by making fast food more good versus what we currently have now. And if our people then become less sicker from the food we eat then we will be in less debt! Think about it, what’s the point of having majority of people sick when we are technically “bankrupt” already. Plus we also need affordable housing and we haven’t seem to find the solution to solve this other dilemma. A credit card is not suppose to be used as a survival mechanism because you don’t have money, our people are going into debt for bread, milk and some cotton clothing with a logo on it.

People in the comment section are splitting hairs about this issue, by saying things like "but China and Russia owe more..." or by saying "the US owes that debt to its own citizens", or "other countries print more money than we do, so we have more room to borrow". You are all missing the point. I was living in Portugal since 2000 until 2016. I got to see the process of debt unravelling, it can happen in a matter of months, if your debt to GDP goes above 100% your national effort just to pay interest exceeds the percentage of interest payed and often exceeds the GDP growth... If you understand anything about math you know why this becomes a problem. Even if you just pay interest and have no budget deficit you will still need to pay more in interests than your annual economic growth... Where is that extra money coming from? Either more taxes, more foreign direct investment, more exports or... Selling assets and cutting public spending. The US has very little capacity to attract more foreign direct investment because their economy is already too big and cost of production too high, they can't really increase much of exports for the same reason. So what can they do? Sell assets and cut spending. The federal government has very limited assets that can be sold (except for military equipment) so, prepare for more cuts on spending, forget about new infrastructures. Pay more taxes, maybe a federal VAT tax, a 20% Vat tax could potentially pull about 10 trillion dollars per year in revenue for the federal government, prepare for more inflation (increasing taxes causes inflation), in essence, prepare to be poorer. Nobody can live above their means forever, not even the US.

@@princefernando2192Yeah, I'm wondering what amount US debt needs to hit before everybody starts rushing for the door. There is already an erosion of faith in the ability of the US to pay their debts. Countries like Russia and China have divested or are in the process of getting rid of their US bonds holdings and accumulating gold. It'll be interesting to see when everybody loses faith in the US $ and starts dumping. We also have to be prepared for hard times when that happens.

A stronger military? Isn’t that how we got into this mess? As military experts have pointed out, the U.S. has the most expensive military. Not the best. AND! in a peer-to-peer war it would loose to Russia. 😮

This news has been covered by almost every media channel, even brought up many times during republican debates. Noone knows the solution though. I recall Vivek Ramaswamy discussed some solutions before he was kicked out by the voters.

@@sudoname , There are already solutions that have been implemented that people do not see. All 401K catch-up contributions are Roth from this year onwards, and that means you do not get pretax catch-up contributions. The government is going to collect higher taxes. Social security will keep getting adjusted in various ways either by increasing the retirement age or lowering payments.

@@ppen8359 Thanks, this is a very helpful insight. I agree taxes will increase overall, but I am not sure states like California can afford any more (we are already close to 50% with state taxes). Social security is already hit hard by inflation so it cannot be decreased any further. Nikki Haley suggested increasing the retirement age but got a severe backlash. Any solution IMO will likely piss off a huge group of people, which is why politicians will continue to defer this discussion.

@@sudoname You are mixing Federal debt with state debt. I left California a long time ago because it works like socialist Europe. Most Californians will never admit that it is not a good state to live.

She oversold the fate of Evergrand. Yes, it is bad. Yes it is going under, but slowly and with minimal harm to the rest of the economy. Here in China the economy for ordinary people is going along normally. There is no crash, like the US had with it's banking crisis.

Part of the reason is so that they can control their currency vs. the USD. They can use their foreign currency reserves to influence the exchange rate of their currency vs. the USD.
