I don't see Cricket even coming close to Football/Soccer there. Even Soccer today is not at all a big sport out there after 30 years of the World Cup. We are going to be a full member nation in 3-5 years. After the World Cup, MLC, and proper player infrastructure, I see the sport growing at a healthy pace. When people learn some players are paid over 100k in MLC they’ll start learning to play. We already have enough fans to maintain the MLC long term. It showed there’s plenty of fans that’ll watch, they just need to provide the cricket. It’s really cool knowing we have 2 pro cricket leagues in North America. With MLC and GT20. The Americans are a very insular people. They have isolated themselves from influences from across the globe and I believe their sporting culture reflects that isolationast mentality. Cricket may never take off in the US the way soccer did ( again to a very limited extent) ,but heck the South Asian players will always get an opportunity to play the sport they love at the global stage.
