Can 1 Velite Gladiators beat every unit in Seleucid roster units including Companion Cavalry?
Combatants: 1 x Velite Gladiators vs. 1 x of each Seleucid Cavalry unit
Terrain: Grasslands
Players: Both sides are controlled by human player
Tactics: Tactics ARE NOT Allowed, missiles can be fired

I just liked how the armoured elephants were getting closer and closer to the generals' bodyguard. I'm starting to think that gladiator was leading them there on purpose!

Are there any matchups where armored elephants are better than war elephants? Are armored elephants a trap?

Their poor performance has raised a similar question. As a result I did a vid comparing them (link below). It appears that the Armoured ones just dominate in this test. Tbh, I don't really know what is causing the poor performance in this series :) kzfaq.info/get/bejne/p7qXqspjutCUpYU.html

Well if you stay still instead of running around to not get so many hits then yeah, otherwise no because you should never get mobbed down.

Thanks for the comment. Depends on the perspective. If player controls them properly, they will do very well. At the same time, if AI controls them, or they are not controlled properly, they are just horrible :)

Knew the loose formation would cause a lot of mess with this unit but even I was surprised the Chariots did enough to win.

Defeats companions with ease but can’t handle chariots. That’s not something you see everyday.

Companions are pretty underpowered in this game. They're supposed to be an elite cavalry force but cataphracts are so much better.

Do these gladiators get +4 attack against cavalry from light spears?

The regular spear bonus gives +8 attack against cav and -4 against infantry Light spears of these gladiators give +8 defense against cav and -4 defense against infantry

units with 2 hitpoints are hard to kill initially with missiles since you effectively have to kill them twice. Plus they were braced with shields out

Thanks for the comment. Well, that would be one way to do it. At the same time, as this is series and they have always charged in, they have to do it in the future as well to keep things comparable. But in "real game" I fully agree with you :)
