Victor Wembanyama's preseason game against the Miami Heat was mind-bending, so Sam Vecenie is joined here by Bryce Simon and we decided to break it all down with tape and explain how the Spurs are using Wemby on both offense and defense, and how he has a chance to basically entirely break basketball with how the team is utilizing him already.

Watching that live behind the Heat bench, it was one of the most unbelievable things I’ve witnessed live at a sporting event. Watching Wemby just doesn’t seem real. He literally did 5 things that I’ve never seen a player ever do. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing.

Hey I've been watching your channel and I love the way you break down the game beyond a surface level and go in-depth on specific players and their skills / weaknesses. The effort and time that goes into making these videos really shows, keep up the good work!

I'm sure that's true that he only ran one play specifically for Vic as opposed to others, but the tape shows (as I hope we showed) that he was a real clear option within a ton of sets throughout the game.

Break the game down to quarters. Say he gets 7 points a quarter. So. Now he's got that with say 12 touches per quarter. And I don't think the defence can stop him from touching the ball 12 times a quarter....so it going to be exciting to see his size a length get buckets. And, the haters are going to give stactic because he's 7'4"... because he's a giant.... Just enjoy him and the game. Damn

So the real question among us nerds is: how to you properly compare between players of different eras?

It is kind of funny because there are 15 players on a team and of course VW is number 1. It has been made quite clear by coaching and general consensus that the other 14 players will be the next 14 that can best augment VW's game, or augment "thee game." So vassal is next most important as he shoots better % 3's (at this point anyway) and can play defense. Now they are down to 13 players more. They are probably prioritizing a big BIG for those games when they play the Nokia's embids of the game... So at this point everyone is passing to VW and deferring to VW to retain their spurs roster spot and that is funny. Eventually, hopefully the other 13 players will eventually become their own talents unto themselves while still playing excellent VW directed game play. That is sort of why I wondered why SAS didn't go after Bol Bol because the VW can't play 48 minutes and Bol Bol already has the body type and "some" of the skills VW has, AND I'm sure SAS have developed quite a plan to enhance the body skills of VW and so a person like Bol Bol could have jumped into that training program and playing program. Alas, definitely fun to watch as I am sure nearly all nba fans will enjoy VW play... except when playing against their team.

When Victor start to pass, hit 3s and rebounds like Jokic, the league is done.

He will be guarding perimeter players... so I don't see him being a great rebounder... but that would be great if he could average at least 9

It's preseason, nobody gives shet to pressure him on court, not mention those elite vets haven't been 100% yet (it's a long season everybody knows), so any hype about this kid is way to early. Preseason games are like G league games, calm down dudes.

Victor is the real deal and he is going to keep proving it. Of course there will be guys capable of stopping him for now but in a few years after he is used to them nobody will be able to handle the guy. Now everybody know Victors biggest problem is potential injuries, he and the staff are doing all they can to prevent them but we all know that injuries can hit even the most prepared players.
